He kept saying, "Birt'day ba'oon, birt'day ba'oon!"
Actually, everything thing turned into "birt'day" whatever. Dad got him his "birt'day milk" and that is when dad said, "You're going to fit in great around here, Wes."
Yes, he is my son and he understands you can basically get away with murder on your birthday. He is only two. So smart.

The balloons were obviously super exciting and were entertaining for minutes on end throughout the day.
After dad's delicious breakfast crepes, it was present time before dad headed off to school. He has an evening class on Wednesday, so we did our family celebrations all morning long.
These two boys make the greatest team…and Thad definitely teamed up with him to get those presents opened ASAP!
But first I made him stop and say, “I’m two!”
This is is best attempt at creating the number two with his hands. Two year olds rock.

For this next present I imagined taking some darling pictures of the boys together as Thad showed Wes what he had saved his money for and helped wrap for his birthday…
Well, while Wes was engrossed with his previous gift, Thad “helped” Wes get the gift started so it was over before I could even get a good picture.
Wes cries for as long as it takes to get a Beyblade whenever Thad is playing with somebody else, so it was the perfect gift to make the baby stop crying.
Wes was a little preoccupied with the gift dad was struggling to get open in the background to totally appreciate the gift, but as you can see Thad is more than excited and just got finished yelling, “Three, two, one…Let it RIP!” like any true Beyblade master would.
This gift will definitely come it handy.
So, Wes loves to “vacuum” with me whenever he can and he always grabs the golf club bag with wheels and pretends it’s a vacuum too.
We figured it was time to get him the real deal.

I’m kinda sad I don’t have a picture with him standing and pushing it, because he pushed it around for most of the day and was especially excited to use it when we cleaned up after his party!
Grandmas and Grandpas did not disappoint:
And neither did these Lightening McQueen slippers.
Thad has had a hand-me-down pair of McQueen/Mater slippers from Caden for a couple of years. Recently Wes has taken an interest and wears them at some point every day and there usually ends up being some fighting because of course Thad’s love for the slippers has been rekindled.
Ironic timing, Mr. Thad.
These were on clearance for $5 at Target, so I guess it was an easy fix to our “problem.” No more complaining from this momma!

He is in love with them and wore them for the rest of the day that he was awake and in the house.
He woke up in hysterics from his nap saying, “Sippers, sippers!”
After presents we had a fun birthday photo shoot with the whole fam, but Wes was of course the star.
Enjoy!
Enjoy!
After our fun photo shoot, Brian headed for school and Wes and I got ready to Par-tay!
Oh yeah, to get Wes to take a picture with me, I had to do this:
I tell him to come see what is in my hands and there is never anything but a nice tickle. It always works.
It’s basically the only thing to get him to change his diaper. I love him.
Well the party got started…and it wasn’t much of a party but more of a glorified play date.
There was also lots of food involved and kids sneaking it off the table, so I’m sure that helped too!

Olivia.Hallie.Brightyn
Jamie had to keep an eye on Olivia who was smothering Brightyn a little bit. It was so funny!
I love when little kids call other little kids baby like she was calling calling Brightyn, it is so cute.

We probably lit the candle ten times because every time it was lit he would blow it out, point at Katie who had the lighter, and say, “Birt’day! Birt’day!”
He loved it!
The party ended and that sweet boy took a good two hour nap, but was up and ready to chat and play for the rest of the day!
I never really thought I would see my boys play outside much on their winter birthdays.
Texas sure has changed that!

Texas sure has changed that!
And since dad had class all night, the three of us head to nowhere else than the Chick-Fil-A!
I was a little bit sad to see the day end, but I’m pretty sure that boy knew the day was all about him.
I hope and pray Wes feels loved from us and his Heavenly Father, and days like this hopefully confirm to him what a wonderful little boy he is.

Wesley Wilson,
There is so much to say about your fun-loving, expressive, hilarious, stubborn personality you show us every single day.
You are no longer my baby as you can see by all that attitude and understanding you have on that perfect face of yours.
You are the perfect little brother for that Thad of ours and you are always wanting to be just like him. He is a good boy, so it warms my heart that you look up to him.
You cross the street like a big kid, thinking, “Hey, my brother does it!” And you wish more than anything you could get on a bike and keep up with him. It makes me so happy.
You are a brave little soul. I’m going to have to keep my eyes on you as your physical ability isn’t always up to par with what’s going through that smart little brain of yours.
You melt my heart ever time you say, “La you” , “Dank you mommy” or “Na Night, Mommy?”
You’re a pro at praying and sometimes I wish you would never grow so that I could always help you while you sit on my lap, scrunch your eyes closed tight and crinkle that nose while waiting for the next set of words.
Thank you for making our family better, happier and more complete. We love you, Wes and always will.
Happy Second Birthday!
Love,
Mommy
