Thad woke up and asked for his favorite breakfast…Toast! (I thank Grandma Cindy for that one!)

I hesitated a little, because we all know how crazy that can be, but I obliged and he was a happy boy.

We didn’t want to open presents until dad got home, and Wes couldn’t keep his cute little paws off of them!
We ran some errands to get the cake, balloons and drop Wes off with his own little friends so the big boy could party hardy!
Party City had some fun entertainment while we waited for balloons.
We got home, set things up and had a mini photo shoot with my handsome 5 year old.
After the shoot, it was FINALLY time to go to The Lego Movie!
Charli is the best and hooked us up with tickets for the show, so we headed over there early with her and Brayden and waited for the others to come.

They all had so much fun in the adult theater eating popcorn and pizza to their little hearts content!
The movie was hilarious and all five kids behaved incredibly well.

After the show we were off for cake and ice cream to top off his perfect birthday day.

All these cute smiles are anxiously awaiting cake!

Cali and a couple of the others had to leave pretty quick, so we got to opening presents right away.
Cali gave Thad a couple of balloons with a surprise inside…

And a fun way to find out what that surprise was!

Sweet Lilly was up next, but I didn’t even get a picture of them together. :(
But she sure knew how to make him happy and got him a Lego policeman and robber.
And then Tyson and Brayden hung around, very much to Thad’s delight, to check out his new toys with him.

After winding down from a fun party, I treated Thad to his favorite dinner: noodles and white sauce, aka fettuccine alfredo.
Dad was finally home and we got finally open those presents that boy had been staring at all day.

Thad had been bummin’ a scooter off Brayden and Tyson for a while, so he was super excited to have his very own Avengers scooter.
Did I tell you this boy like super heroes? Not sure if you could tell.
Wes was all sorts of distraught when it came to picking out a present for his older brother, but I think it’s safe to say they were both happy with the choice. ;)

Man, they make a good lookin’ pair of brothers!

He was a happy boy and very grateful for the gifts he received.
We had so much fun watching his face light up and it always makes a mom’s heart happy to see her kid happy.
There are so many things I could say about why I love this boy, but for this post I will keep it to five.
1. You are the best big brother ever. You love that Wessie and are so sweet when you cry when I tell you the Indians are going to come get him. Thank you for watching out for him, letting him play with you and your friends and teaching him big boy stuff. He is a lucky boy to have you.

2. Your sense of humor. We are always laughing around these parts! I love how you always ask what my fake name is and after I told you Billy Bob Thornton a bunch of times, you then started calling me Billy Bob Forkin’. We love those laughs and know we have lots more to come over the years!
3. Your punctuality. You wake up almost every. single. morning. at 7:00 on the dot. I know you wait there like a good boy for the clock to have a seven in the front, and I know it’s a rare find to have such an obedient boy, but each morning I hear those footsteps on those stairs and I love seeing that face when it pops around the corner. I haven’t always said this, but it is such a good quality you have inherited from your daddy. Mornings are the best and I’m lucky I get to see your face every. single. morning.
4. Your prayers. I could hear you pray all day every day. I love when you shake your head EVERY time during night prayers while saying, “Grateful that mom, dad, Wes and me won’t have bad dreams.” Melts my heart every time.
5. Your smile. Not only is that smile one of the handsome-est I have ever seen, but it is very indicative of the boy we spend our days with. It is hard to find you without a smile and if you don’t have one, it returns very quickly. You are quick to forgive and forget, and so that smile stays. Always be that way, my sweet 5 year old, you will never regret forgiving, forgetting, loving and being happy. I only hope I can be that example to you.
We love you 5 year old Thad, and don’t you forget it!
