We had over a week after Christmas before going back to school and it was fun for all. Nothing out of the ordinary, just some fun together and with a few friends. No COVID or sickness, so we will call it a win!
We had Christmas Sunday the day after Christmas this year and I loved how our Sunday attire turned out-
We had a wonderful Christmas service with beautiful music and talks centered on Christ. How grateful I am to Him for this family and this life.
Eve wanted roller blades ASAP so she could join Wes in his adventures, so two days after Christmas she collected her dollars and we went to Play It Again Sports so she could pick out a used pair.
I mainly took this picture to pat myself on the back for loosening up over the years. You would have never caught me in public with a child in socks and sandals, a dress up, or a baby without pants or socks on in the winter. But behold...all three things are happening in this picture.
There was a lot (maybe too much) screen time over the break...but at least they were by each other...?
Mae loved being on electronics with dad-
Wes and Cora swapped places and we had fun sleep overs with the Joyces -- We got the girls at our house and they had fun crafting and doing all the girl things before needing melatonin and a talking to before falling asleep.
We got a fun art history box for Christmas and made the ornaments before we put all the Christmas decor away. Thad's didn't turn out great-
We got to head to Wheeling, West Virginia for Eden's baptism and it was so wonderful to see the Farrs after a year and a half!
Eden had an awesome service and sang Peace in Christ at the end.
Hanna, Tracy, and now all of their girls have been baptized in this church house, so it was such a special thing to be a part of. I think it got Eve really excited for her baptism this next year!
The Farrs had their dogs and Eve could not keep her hands off!
Eve had been asking to go to work with dad for several months, and this winter break she finally got her chance!
Boss lady!!
I love that these two got to spend some quality time together! Eve is such good company. Love her so much!
We pulled out our Lego sets and had a fun night getting them *mostly* done-
Wes woke up bright and early the next day to finish up Baby Yoda that we made him stop working on at 10pm the night before-
Turned out pretty awesome!
Thad's wasn't too shabby, either-
Fawkes the Phoenix
To round out our winter break we had a really fun New Year's Eve gathering with the Joyces and Rancs at our place-
Liv was the first to bed, but got a good kiss from me anyways!
Kevin was so nice to let Mae put make up on him, although I think he drew the line at lip gloss-
Carter brought a really fun game, Left Right Center, and Mae insisted she play-
All of the candy ends up in the middle and one person gets to take it all...and that person was Mae!!! I didn't get a picture, but it was so funny that she won it all! She was a good sport and shared a lot of it.
Mae got her New Year's kiss and went to bed-
And then the kids had fun watching the ball drop, dancing to the disco light, and popping the fireworks Everett won in the gift exchange at the Christmas party-
Yay for 2022, we can't wait to see what you have in store!
