Funnin' and Runnin'

So April is always a good month for me. We had a ton of fun at Easter and then my birthday always comes right after, so I get to celebrate for quite a while:) Brian spoiled me for my birthday this year and first of all let me buy a round-trip plane ticket to Houston to go and visit Kim and her boys in May. I am so excited and can't wait to see them! So I wasn't expecting much because I bought the ticket, but on on the 12th Brian took me on a date and we went to eat at Elements, a fancy new restaurant in town. I give it 5 stars because the food was soooo yummy! If you live in Logan and haven't eaten there, I highly recommend it. It's a little pricey, but worth every penny!
Brian and I at dinner
Brian got the New Yorker
Before we sat down, Brian told me I could get whatever I wanted...so of course I ended w/ dessert!

Brian's little sis, Kelli, was so sweet and watched Thad all night while we went to dinner and then went and saw Date Night after. The night was so perfect for me because dinner and a movie is one of our favorite things to do and we don't do it as much anymore for obvious reasons and it was just a blast!

On my actual birthday, the 14th, I had a really great day too! Brigitte came up and surprised me the night before and her and Leah spent the night w/ us:)
It's kinda sad, but this is the only pic I got of her. (Thanks for Thad's haricut Brig!)
Thad is obsessed w/ Baby Einsteins. I let him do this on my b-day because I just wanted to get ready w/o him whining at me the whole time. He would sit and do this all day if I let  him...I think I over use it sometimes. Am I a bad mom?
In the afternoon we got sack lunches from Old Grist Mill and spent some time at the park. It was a B-E-A-Utiful day!
Wahoo!
Swingin' Dad and Thad
That night, Bre was so amazing and threw me a little birthday bash. The Madsens and The Hills came and we just BBQ'd it up. Bre made some yummy chicken and everyone else brought the fixin's:)
Before we ate, we had to go outside and play on the tramp! Haley was the only adult who would get on. She is such a sweetie!
Sadie and Thad sittin' on the tramp
I don't know what i would do w/o these ladies in my life. Love you all!
The Boys (and Sadie;-)
My friends are so sweet and got me some really great things. Heidi got me a great book called A Mother's Book of Secrets, Haley got me some great storage containers for my baking stuff and Bre got me a GREAT purse from Down East...I have the greatest friends!

So the weekend after my birthday was the SLC Half Marathon. Heidi and I have been training for it since February and we finally got 'er done!
Heidi and I on Trax at 5:30am...we woke up at 4:30, give us a break for our tired eyes
There was a big group of us that trained....The other gals are Brian's cousins and cousin-in-laws and it was so fun to meet up that morning and experience everything together.
Brian's other cousins, aunt and mom walked the 5k that morning
Thad loves seeing Grandma T...
He also loves giving kisses as you can see in both of the above pictures:)
Heidi and I w/ the kiddles after the race. We were exhausted, but it was so fun to be done and w/ our families
We freaking rock! Seriously though. We just ran 13.1 miles w/o stopping. That's far.
I love my family! Todd and Kelsie are so awesome and came out to cheer me on. Kelli, thanks for being Brian's road trip partner:)

The half marathon was a great experience and I will for sure do one again, but it will also for sure be a while. The training and the end result was very rewarding and I would highly suggest the challenge to anyone.

That afternoon, my mom and sister came and got a pedicure w/ me, which was heaven, and then we had a little belated b-day party for me w/ both sides of the fam:)

Don't ask me what I wished, I won't tell!
More presents!

My family is seriously so amazing and I'm so glad I could celebrate w/ them. I'm glad they had a party for me, but I'm just glad there was an excuse to all get together. I love being w/ everyone and I am so excited for the day that I can live closer to them (July 2011), not that I'm counting the months or anything;-) Thank you to everyone and I'm sorry if I seemed a little groggy at my party...I wouldn't suggest running and half marathon and having a party on the same day.

April Foolin'

The last couple of weeks have been really fun! We have been looking forward to Easter for a while...it was a much needed break. Life just gets crazy with Brian and his schooling and it has just been fun to be together. 2 Sundays ago we went to WJ and had an April Fools dinner w/ Brian's family. Teresa made spaghetti and meatballs, slopped it all on the table and we just ate it off of the table. It was pretty funny! Then she made some spaghetti cupcakes and they were very realistic and super delicious!
The ride down to WJ:)
The cute spaghetti cupcakes!

We died Easter Eggs after dinner:
Thad wasn't much into coloring the eggs
Brian drew really cool pics on his!
Todd tried to be cool and do something as good as Brian, but it didn't work out;-)

Some fun in between weekends:
Thad doing pilates w/ mom:) If I have my mat out he HAS to be standing on it. Not on the carpet...on the mat.
I babysit my friend Emilie's little gal Kate and she is just a doll! Thad and Kate love Baby Einsteins and this is them enjoying it.

This last weekend was a lot of fun and Thad did so well even though he had a bit of a cold and a yucky eye infection. Easter is really fun with little kids, and we really had a super weekend!

Grandma Teresa OF COURSE spoiled all of us and we had a ton of fun looking for our baskets. Grandpa Russ loves being tricky: Thad's was under the table, Brian's was in the garbage can in the construction zone upstairs and I couldn't have found mine w/o the help of Todd leaning all the way over into the middle of the bushes and pulling it out. Thanks Todd!
We visited Great G-ma and G-pa Bulkley
And had a way fun hunt at G-ma and G-pa Wilson's!
VICTORY!
The little kids hunted in the front yard and the adults in the back yard and we blew bubbles everywhere:) Brian and I ended up with $36 at the end of it! Thanks mom and Dad!
