September Wrap-Up

September was a good month for us. The weather was absolute perfection and introduced fall in a spectacular way. With Grandma Cindy’s and Haley Hill’s visit (she is actually still here!), we got a little taste of home, which always helps us through the months between Utah trips.

Labor Day
We started out the month with a fun Labor Day weekend spent at Robert Moses Beach, where we had gone while Aunt Brigitte, Caden and Leah were here. We (the boys and I) always do fun things without Dad when visitors come, so we decided he either has to come, or we have to make a separate trip so he can experience the same fun things. He had never been to the beaches on Long Island and this was our perfect chance before the fall crispness set in.

These are some of Thad’s views during our 1.5 hour drive to the beach.
He is so funny!

It was a beautiful, relaxing afternoon to spend with our boys.
IMG_4166
Thad is still pretty afraid of the water which makes me sad, but hopefully we can get him in some swimming lessons soon because I don’t want it to be an ongoing problem.
He was a good sport and played with Dad in the shallow water for most of the afternoon.
Wes wasn’t a huge fan of the all day beach thing, as he can’t nap too well at the beach anymore, but he did pretty darn good and we were able to get a good 5 hours in at the beach.

These boys LOVE being together.
I love being with them.
I wish every weekend was Labor Day weekend.

My boys just got cuter as the month went on and we had some fun taking pictures doing nothing.

I tried doing a photo shoot with this guy…wasn’t going so well as you can see the bluriness of the picture…
IMG_4185
So brother thought he would jump in and help out.
Not very helpful.
IMG_4186
But it made for a cute brothers picture.
IMG_4187
And we were finally able to get a somewhat clear picture.
Better luck next time!

September-Random2
This is the beautiful weather I was speaking of.
It allowed us to go to the park and hang out for a few hours with no complaints from anyone.

“Let’s exercise, Mom!!”

IMG_4196
I love his face. So much.

IMG_4275
Not much can beat some bath time babes.
I try to shower Thad, but he is scared of the water hitting his face, so he always opts for a bath with Wes.
Sometimes it’s annoying that he is scared and cries about showering, but these guys won’t always want to bathe together, and it’s just so cute right now so I will take what I can get.

Just our chubby baby not attempting to crawl or move in any way.

And just being a cute Aggie fan!

Just a sneak peek into October 31!

Angie and Vess came to NYC, so of course we went in to visit, and on our way we tried to capture a picture of those toothy teeth!
It took a few tries…
IMG_4282
But I think we got a pretty good one.

IMG_4285
Thad was such a good helper getting subway tickets with dad.

IMG_4289
After dinner and walking through a street festival in Little Italy, we ended our night at one of our favorite places in SoHo.
Thanks for the fun night, Pearsons, you really wore us out!
I think Brian was even able to get a little shut eye on this ride.

IMG_4297
Thad went to a FABULOUS party for his friend Alex and had a wonderful time!
IMG_4298
Emily had all sorts of building and construction activities going on and ALL of the kids were in heaven.
Thad and Alex are such fun friends. They just get each other and I sure love that Thad has a good friend.
Emily has twins and she always says that they are like having twins because they get along so well and can entertain each other for hours.
I love little boys!
IMG_4296
Another wonderful thing that came out of the party is this hat.
He loves this hat and wore it 3 days straight after the party.
I think he a is very handsome construction worker!
IMG_4315
Just eating breakfast in the hat the next morning before church.
IMG_4318
Emily taught Joyschool the following Monday and taught about bugs, so he sported his awesome spider necklace for a few days too.
So great!

IMG_4319
Here is Alex again on our apple picking expedition.
Each year we have gone to some sort of farm, but we have never actually picked apples.
We finally went with our fun new play group, and it was an absolute fabulous time!
IMG_4327
These boys had a blast together!
It for sure wouldn’t have been the same without another 3-year old there with him.
IMG_4331

In fact, while picking apples, he kicked around with Emily and Alex most of the time as I was trying to navigate an $18 stroller through rocks, hills and fallen apples with a 23 lb baby in tow.
IMG_4328
Good thing he is super cute, because it was totally worth it.
IMG_4333
Thad was totally strong and carried his bag while completely full with apples.
He is one tough cookie.
Also, please notice the spider necklace.

Fun Fall pictures!
IMG_4324
I tried to get one with brother.
Not so successful.
IMG_4320
And we’ll sign off with a semi-successful picture of the three of us.
I guess Wes’ smile will make up for Thad’s lack of eye contact.
Love them both so much!

8 Months? Are You Sure?

Eight months have passed since our Wes joined us. Crazy? Yes. Gone fast? Yes. Awesome? Yes.

He really gets more fun with every passing month.
He loves sitting up and really perfected it this month.

I can never get enough of this tired face.
It is to die for. I could really squeeze him to pieces every time he wakes.
This boy LOVES to play.
Thad and him have been bonding more and more as Wes can respond to Thad's interactions with him. It melts my heart to see my boys not just be brothers, but friends.

He FINALLY got some TEETH!!
On September 17 while Grandma Cindy was here, his bottom front/left tooth poked through and the next day this bad boy made an appearance.
It has been funny to watch him check them out with his tongue. He is loving his new accessories.
As you can see the right/top gum is pretty swollen and I think it is bound to pop through any time.

This boy loves to eat.
Since starting solids, his formula intake has decreased significantly (from 30oz-18oz), and he is more than happy to snack on whatever we are having.
The picture on the left shows how uptight he can get if you're withholding something from him, and the picture on the right is how happy he is once he has received.
He has also perfected to the 'pick and release.' For a long time he could pick food up, get it to his mouth, but not release it to enjoy.
No longer.
This boy is on his own.

I could stare into these baby blues ALL day.
Oh wait. I do.

I know all my posts make Wes sound like a dream...but he really is!
He is SO predictable and it makes my life a lot easier.
He is all about the Baby Wise: Wake, eat, play, sleep.
Best thing I ever discovered.
He's still not a fan of sleeping in a stroller or car seat, but on occasion will do so.
It can actually be really good when we are running errands, because he is good when he's busy seeing new things, but doesn't sleep = long nap when we get home.
I tried to get him up on his hands and knees, and this was the best I could get.
Then he got really tired from just trying.
He has no interest in crawling. He won't even bear weight on his legs.
Thad was crawling around like a mad man at this point.
But, don't worry, I'm not worried.
Once this boy is on the move (which I know will come and last for the rest of forever), I have to be a lot more aware, baby proof my main floor and put gates on my stairs.
Trust me, I can wait.
I think I will enjoy sitting up and the occasional roll while I can.

I will also enjoy the times that my child is more intrigued with a wrapper his brother gave him than with toys, calculators, tape and cartoons.
Mental note: Don't buy baby toys

We struggled with our football photo shoot this month.
He is much more mobile and interested in what is going on.
As you can see on the top left, Dad was there to try and regulate, it took a little while, but sure enough...
We finally got one of our big boy.
I love those legs. Seriously, how can you not?
I swear my child has pants on when we are out in public, but as you can see from this post, he rocks the onesie on it's own when we are at home. Those legs are going to slim out before I know it, and I don't want to miss one day of squishing them while I can.

Love this baby more than words can say.
