We went to the dentist for a bi-annual check up and the boys passed with flying colors.
I couldn't get enough of Wes and how awesome and big he thinks he is. Six months ago they only checked his teeth, so when he was able to get x-rays and cleaned teeth like big brother, he was happy to cooperate!
On Monday, June 15, Brian called me while he was golfing with his friend Ben from school to see if I wanted to go to a Ben Fold's concert that night in Austin with them...um, yeah! I was able to work that babysitting swap last minute and the Steeles watched the kids for about six hours so we could do it.
I don't get to hang out with people from school very often, so it was a treat to hang out with Ben and Shannon and enjoy some music we all love!
(Brian and I had yellow wrist bands because I didn't have my I.D., so no alcohol for us. Good thing the water is in blue cans and helped us feel like we didn't stick out too much. Haha! Like we care or something.)
It was a warm night, but we weren't too close to any weirdos and Ben hit it out of the park with lots of fun songs that remind me of high school and our early years of marriage. I am the luckiest!
A couple days after the concert three of the four Duke children joined us for four days while Kristen, Michael, and Tyler went on Trek with the stake. Kristen thinks it was a big favor for her, but it was really our treat! These kids are awesome, and I really felt like I could rock this mom thing a little better with some more independent and helpful kids around the house! (Yes, I know they were on their best behavior and we didn't have all the crazy scheduled stuff that comes with big kids, but I daydreamed while I could!)
Brian is our story teller and scripture reader, so they all gathered round to listen-
We went to Jump-O-Line for an afternoon and the kids loved it! Mine had never been before, so it was a blast for them.
Maybe Eve didn't love it so much...
At least at first.
But she warmed up after a bit and was all over the place!
She even put her filthy hands in her mouth for good measure!
See. Having big kids is awesome. Alyssa and Callie were so great to stick by her and make sure she was ok. Sisters are the best and I hope Eve gets one of her own some day!
Matthew spent most of his time in the dodge ball arena and rocked it pretty hard!
Thad did pretty good keeping up!
Playing games is fun with big kids that are willing to help let the littles have fun too!
Matthew was such a big help while he was here and he and Eve were actually quite fond of each other and they always happened to find each other when they were in the same room.
He not only helped with all of the kids (buckling, playing, telling them to listen in a nice way), but mowed the back lawn with no hesitation when I asked if he would do it before it rained. His parents are raising him right!
Brian was able to take them all to Inside Out on opening weekend because Charli was so generous to get us tickets and they all loved it...even Brian!
(Wes didn't get the "Fear" memo!)
Thank you for being amazing, Duke kids! We loved hosting you!
After their mom got home we went out with friends to celebrate her upcoming birthday on July 7th, but they will be in Africa and lots of us will be out of town, so we celebrated early with a wonderful night out downtown. 
Yay for good friends and birthday girls!
The rest of the month has been chill. Just trying to keep up with our goals, enjoy the sun (if it's not raining) and getting ready for our trip to Utah that we leave for TOMORROW!
I can't get over how cute it is that the boys let Eve join in, I love it!
So does she, obviously!
Another month has come and gone, but we are sure excited for this next one, because...UTAH!
