We have been talking about Eve turning five for a long time and it has finally come and gone and she is so happy she can say she is five now! After we had Mae she would say, "Then it's dad's birthday and then it's my birthday!" She loved waking up on Monday, September 16th and to see the house ready for her day of celebration-
Her brothers were so sweet to be excited for her birthday and she was able to open a couple gifts and play in her new teepee from Grandma Teresa and Grandpa Russ.
Since her last birthday she has been saying she wants a Frozen party. She originally wanted to go ice skating, but her broken arm put the brakes on that plan and instead she wore this cute dress all day, had a few Frozen themed decorations and a Frozen cake. She was as happy as could be!
We weren't ready to cut into the cake, so after lunch some ice cream with a single candle did the trick-
These girls had such a fun time playing and loved riding to school together after the play date!
After the boys got home from school Eve opened the rest of her presents and our favorite one as a family were the Scrubbie Pets from Grandma Cindy and Grandpa Kent...We all joined in!
Eve was over the moon about our excitement and involvement in her stuff and it was fun to focus on her for the afternoon.
After her chosen dinner of spaghetti, we went to the park for her party with her neighbor friends and it was a beautiful fall evening for us-
Eve loves being outside and being with friends, so this was the perfect set up for her and what she chose to do.
She has darling friends that gave her darling gifts-
After presents: Cake and Ice Cream
It was so fun to watch my girl be with her family and friends and move through it all so seamlessly. We sure love this girl and love any chance we get to celebrate her.

Charly wasn't able to make it to the park, but she got some one on one time with him after!
We sure love you Evelyn and are so happy you are the big sister!
We are so lucky to have you and can't imagine our family without you!
Five sure looks good on you!
5 Things We Love About Eve
1. Her drawings. She draws and draws and only knows how to write our family's names and the word LOVE and she puts in on everything. She will randomly bring it to you for fun or if you're sad or mad and it automatically makes us feel better. I love how she is learning to express herself artistically.
2. Sister. Eve is a little sister AND a big sister now and she carries both roles so well! She can keep up with those boys (and soften them when she needs to), but she is right there with Mae and ready to love on her or help her in any way if she can. It is so fun to watch her do something I never have!
3. Excitement. Her excitement for life brings so much joy to our family! She joins in on every countdown we have and reminds all every day to be excited about something. She wakes up with a smile on her face ready to face life with joy every morning!
4. Skills. This girl has skills! She can swim, bike, jump, dance, cartwheel with the best of them! Nothing can slow her down. Not even a broken arm. And I love that about her!
5. Independence. I have probably added this to other birthday posts, but it gets stronger and stronger every year! Eve is her own woman. She doesn't need approval or permission from anyone! Yes, this gets her in trouble every now and then, but it is one of the best things about her and will serve her well in life! She can hold her own and I hope she always knows it!

At 10 a.m. her new twinner friend from school, Evie (who is also named Evelyn, has blonde hair, loves Frozen and moved from Texas), came over for a birthday play date-
She wanted Eve to open her gift right away and it was this darling unicorn dress up that Eve had to switch out her Elsa dress for a little while. I mean, I don't blame her!We weren't ready to cut into the cake, so after lunch some ice cream with a single candle did the trick-
