10 Months and Counting

Our Wes is 10 months! His cheeks get chubbier, his voice louder, and his appetite larger with each passing month.

See what I'm saying about those cheeks?
He smiles the biggest for Brian, and luckily we're getting a peek of those five teeth every now and then. He is rocking 3 on the top and 2 on the bottom. So handsome!

We decided when we came to Utah that we would just use the forward facing car seat, and I don't think we will turn back. He is so big and fits in it great and loves looking straight ahead.
It's also really cute to see him when he falls asleep!

His exact 10-month mark was on November 22, which happened to be Thanksgiving day.
Such a good reminder that we are so thankful for this little baby in our lives.
He brings joy wherever he is. Sure, he can get an attitude every now and then and swipe his hands at people's faces when they go to give him kisses, but they laugh and even in his bratty moments the joy still shines through!

Here are some fun things about Wes at this age:
-He has loved yelling lately and does it a lot during his meal times. Sometimes funny, sometimes not.
-His gibberish is to die for and I try to imitate it just so he will keep going.
-He LOVES to eat, and does a lot of it! His interest in bottles is decreasing and he loves to snack on anything he can crunch or munch on with his teeth. He has learned to use those things to his advantage!
-He sleeps amazingly. Still all the way through the night and a good portion of the day. As long as he has his paci, he needs nothing else. Good baby.
-He still can't crawl, but has made massive improvements while we have been in Utah. I think he likes the soft floor better and having all the fun people around to motivate him. As soon as he figures how to use his legs, he will be off!
-He loves his brother and looks for him the second he hears a sound come out of Thad's mouth.

I don't have any stats or a picture next to the football because we are on vacation, but the next picture will make up for it all:

~Happy 10 months, Wes~

Half Way Through

We are half way through November and made our way out west for the holidays. Before blogging takes a back seat to all of the fun we are sure to have, here is half of our November.

Thad lives for the hour Dad comes home...Can you see why?

Thad joined Brian for some Runner's Yoga.
Aren't they cute?!

We've enjoyed some above average weather AND an above average 3 year old!

I couldn't resist taking this picture of my sweet baby and his perfect sleep smoosh face.

Although the outcome wasn't quite what we were hoping, we still made it to the polls and exercised our right to vote for the leaders of this great nation.

I had a pretty stylin' helper for some fall clean up.

Good thing we got that fall clean up taken care of because this happened shortly after.
Over on Long Island and New Jersey some people didn't have (and still don't) power yet because it was only one week post Sandy. It's been crazy. I'm not a fan of this weather.

We were lucky enough to have this sweet lady for an evening.
Tillie and Wes played so cute together and were really so easy. BUT I can't imagine having twins and dealing with the day-to-day needs of two babies.
This wasn't even hard and it made me nervous.
We hope to have her over more often.
Both Thad and Wes thoroughly enjoyed her company.

Wes isn't very conventional about the way he gets around, but as you can see, he gets to where he wants to be.
We haven't seen enough of the Farrs lately so we decided to meet in the middle at the mall playground. Clara and Wes loved the flower and we all loved being together.

Wes thought Dad was pretty funny.

Thad has been quite the bookworm lately. I catch him doing this frequently.
I sure hope it continues throughout the years!

Thad doesn't give me a nap everyday anymore. I know I'm lucky that it lasted as long as it did and that he still gives me one every now and then andwhen this happens, I really don't mind.
I love a sleeping kid.

Brian snapped this sweet picture on one of our lucky napping days. :)

We sure heart Christmas around here, and we got an early jump on decorating so that it would all be ready and waiting for us when we get back December 10th.
Luckily I had an awesome helper to get things started:

We loved having our fall decor up for so long, and Thad loved the new tradition we started of having a Thankful Tree. He helped me gather the sticks and each morning he would say, "Mom, let's do our circles!" It was a fun, easy way to be reminded of the small things like Wes' pacifier and a warm bed that we sometimes take for granted.

When I pulled out the Christmas decorations I was grateful to see these lights perfectly wound up and ready to use. Brian is meticulous about this, and it sure pays off!

I did not put one ornament on this tree. It is truly Brian's specialty and he makes it look better than I ever could. I think he's passing on this ability to our boys. Thad did a great job!

Don't be fooled, Wes and I were around but we just enjoyed admiring their work, watching Elf and sipping hot chocolate.

I love how it turned out.
Let the holidays begin!!

October Fun

October was beautiful and fun around these parts! After our good friend Haley left and my half marathon was ran, the rest of that weekend was spent soaking up some spiritual nourishment.
46
These two enjoyed having things changed up a bit with the computer on the floor and did a really good job of letting mom and dad enjoy the talks.

Thad had a dinosaur birthday party on Saturday in between sessions and obtained these beauties:

Can you tell they loved them?

Thad didn’t take it off all night. Not even to watch a show.

We had some fun outings:
The Park

The park was a must as these days are getting few and far between.

We had some runny noses, but brothers can play for hours.

I sure love my captain and co-captain.
I think they’ll help guide each other great throughout the years.

The Aquarium
IMG_4484
We participate in a fun playgroup that includes gals from both wards.
It was my week to plan an activity, and I thought the aquarium was the perfect place for a rainy day.

Wes REALLY loved it if you can’t tell!

Eden Farms

We had a blast during this playgroup outing with the ward.

Thad loved the hay maze but quivered at the thought of going through the spook alley.
That kid loves the thought of scary, but when it comes down to it, he’s a scaredy cat!

Aaron was such a good sport.
He was the only dad at the group and brought his kiddos because their mom had just had a baby a few days before.
Thad kept harassing him to keep pushing them around, and luckily he was awesome and indulged them.
IMG_4506
Wes hung out with this lovely lady most of the time.
Miss Tillie is just 6 weeks younger than him and we think she is pretty awesome.

Thad also thought Miss Tillie was awesome and held her hand the whole ride home.
Lizzy and I were loving it!

The Met
IMG_4534
The CT playgroup decided to head to The Met for the day, and we couldn’t say no because we had never been there!
IMG_4540
Thad was a good sport, and while these two strolled in the stroller, he walked the ten blocks from the parking garage.

IMG_4538
It was the perfect opportunity to get pics like this!

IMG_4542
Smiles obviously weren’t flowing from this kid that day, but at least we snapped a picture here and there. :)

Not the greatest quality picture, but we loved checking out all the Van Gogh and Monet.
There was also an Andy Warhol exhibit that we weren’t allowed to take pictures in, but was definitely cool.
I’m definitely not an artsy fartsy kind of girl, but I recognized the Marilyn Monroe screen prints, so that was a score for me!

We definitely saved the best for last:

The rooftop was luckily open because of the beautiful weather and it was definitely the highlight for me.
It had gorgeous views of the park and city, and made the whole trip totally worth it.

And even though it may look like we are always doing fancy outings, this is what most days consist of:
Boys Playing

Here is Thad enjoying his Halloween matching game Grandma Teresa sent in the mail.
Doesn’t take much to get this kiddo excited!
I love these boys of mine and all the fun things we get to do whether it’s in New York City or right in our living room.
They make my heart so happy and full everyday and I know that I am one lucky mom.
Happy October
