January Fun

January was just a hodge podge of fun! Other than Wes’ birthday, there was nothing major and it was just a fun relaxing month, especially with Dad out of school for the first two weeks. We sure like having that guy around, and I think I am going to like measuring life in semesters for pretty much the rest of forever. School is cool.

With the new camera kicking around, we had lots of fun impromptu photo shoots and lots of close ups. These boys are just too cute to not photograph!

These buckets have been used for several different things. Most commonly as a ship, but frequently they put these on their heads and run around saying, “Buckethead! Buckethead!”

I hold off putting church clothes as long as possible on Sunday mornings and especially pants. I don’t want them to get wrinkly or stained, so we do shirts and socks, and I can never get enough of it!

Thad gave his first talk in the Walsh Ranch Ward in the middle of January, and we decided to have him do the same talk he gave as a Sunbeam in Connecticut.
He was so excited to give the “You Can’t Play Tag with a Turtle” talk again and the Primary kids loved it!
I thought they might chuckle at the funny things like they did in Connecticut, but they kids were mesmerized and were silent the whole time.
Thad did such a good job memorizing it again. I’m so glad I have such a good boy that will work hard and wants to do well. He is such a good boy and I love him with all of my heart. Seeing him do things like this makes me heart swell with happiness.

So, I haven’t been wearing make up much. And I’m sad.
My eyes act up (just like my momma’s) every now and then, but never this bad. They are reacting to EVERYTHING and I can’t find any eye shadow or mascara that won’t do this to my eyes:

I’m super sad about it, especially because it’s been happening for about 3 months now!! What?! Lame.

We made our first temple trip to the San Antonio Temple.
We had some good friends watch the boys and we had a great time being together and feeling the wonderful spirit in the temple.

Just our “sleepy” boys, well at least one of them, on the way home from church!

Charli babysat Wes for me and thought it would be fun to let him paint. She is a brave woman. This is why I don’t do things like that:

I thought his face had blood and bruising when I got there! Luckily it was just paint. It was acrylic paint that didn’t want to come out of his clothes, but it came off his face just fine!

We headed to the Austin Zoo with our neighbors and had so much fun!
Thad cannot get enough of Tyson and Brayden and Charli and I have become such good friends. I love our neighborhood and how friendly everyone is in Texas!

And to top all the fun off, winters in Texas are amazing. As you can see from the zoo, days are spent outside with no jackets and sometimes shorts. Yes, please!
