H to the Ween

Halloween was a blast this year! We planned our pirate theme around Thad because Aunt Brigitte gave us Caden's old Jack Sparrow costume. I love how it turned out!

Here we are at the Fall Festival our ward put on.
Our very first Sunday in Round Rock the bishopric asked us to be on the committee to plan this event. It was a lot of fun and luckily we had easy going committee chairs because we didn't have to stress much about anything. The ward has done it now for 7-8 years, so we basically just used and did the things they have done in the past. I was in charge of the food sign ups, which was a lot -- we had the ward bring the whole meal for 350 people, but everyone was so willing and helpful that it ended up being a breeze!
The festival is held out on a ward member's farm property and it was just the perfect backdrop for a fall get together.

Here are our Chili Cook Off judges --
Our bishop is the guy in the middle.

(Thad wasn't too excited about the makeup on his face on the way over)

I have to say that this is a little bit of fall-Thad-Halloween perfection:

Shelley.Kristen.Jaime
These girls are amazing! Kristen has lived her for 10+ years and Jaime moved in right before us, and we just hit it off! They are a lot of fun and I am excited to get to know them better during our time here.

HALLOWEEN DAY
In the morning on Halloween we headed to Round Rock's Fall Festival with friends from the ward. It was the perfect way to pass some time because Thad just couldn't wait until after dinner! :)

Front row: Chase.Wes.Eloise.Tysen

Cali and Thad are buds and I love it. They are in Sunbeams together and have a fun time when they get together and play. They make a great super hero pair!

TRICK-OR-TREAT!!
For Halloween night we stuck around our neighborhood and had dinner with our neighbors and then headed out for trickin' and treatin' around 7pm. Our neighborhood and street are the best! I love that we have a sense of community and that our kids can have fun together.

I wish it would have been a little lighter for pictures, but I got what I could:
Best Mateys!

And our FUN neighbors!
Thad.Braden(Ironman).Jaden(Grim reeper)
Wes.Tyson(Batman)

Here they are at their first house! Our neighbors across the street, Liz and Ralf, are awesome and wanted to see the kids first thing. They didn't even recognize all of them when they rang the doorbell.

They boys did awesome and we went around for about 1.5 hours! Thad was dragging a little at the end, but he loved it. Wes rode in the stroller for the most part, but really wanted candy at the last ten houses...it was adorable!!!

The loot:

And Wes saw his brother pose, so of course he had to do the same! My heart melted.

Happy Successful Halloween 2013!

October is Over

October is over....but man it was fun! The nice weather finall set in and we spent most afternoons and evenings out front. Our neighborhood is awesome and Thad has had so much fun playing with his friends on our street. He goes out at 3pm when the older kids get home from school and I don't see him until 7pm -- Well, except when Wes wakes up from his nap and wimpers at the window to go out and play with the big kids. But he loves it outside too and all the kids are so sweet to include everyone, and Wes just follows them around like a little puppy. It is awesome.

I cannot get enough of those teeth!
Can you tell how much he loves it outside!?

I sent this picture to my dad and brothers to document my first time ever mowing an entire lawn-
I know the yard still needs work...but you know what? I was pretty proud of myself -- My brothers and dad? Not so sure. ;-)

Conference weekend:

It was a little productive, very relaxing (Brian and I even got to listen to most of the talks because our boys were so good) and we got to have orange julius with toast for breakfast.
It was a good weekend!

Goofing around:
Thad explaining something to dad. I love that this kid thinks he knows everything. It's endearing.

I don't know why Wes doesn't have pants on, but he loves anything about his big brother, so of course he must wear his shoes.

These glasses that picked out of the treasure box at school sure made the rounds!

I can't resist a praying Wes-
 Cutest ever.

More TV watching:

I'm sorry, I just love how Wes copies him.
BBF -- Best Brothers Forever

Halloween Spirit:
It cooled down enough one day in mid-October so that these boys could wear their long sleeved Hween shirts. I love when they get excited about the little things!

You've been "Booed!"
We made sugar cookies to "Boo" our neighbors.
Thad was so excited to ring the doorbell and run --  It was a major success!
