2 Months Young

Wes is a joy. Plain and simple. His second month of life flew by crazy fast mainly due to our trip to Utah for Aunt Kelli's wedding. Those posts are sure to come, but for now here are some pictures of our 2 month old beauty:

We walked down to the beach the other day because the weather has been AMAZING, especially for March, and we decided this baby needed to be introduced to one of the amazing things about living here:
the coast!
Wes was a little camera shy with his brother, but...
I think it's safe to say he loves the beach as much as his momma does!

Wes is still a daddy's boy.
While we were in UT we both struggled being away from this handsome face, so since our return they have been soaking each other up...even in the middle of the night. :)
We went to his 8-week check up this past week and even though getting shots is hard, he pulled through like a trooper!
He passed all his mile stones with flying colors:
Smiling
Holding his head steady
Putting weight on his legs
Gaining weight
Following with eyes
Recognizes mom and dad

Weight: 12 lbs 6 oz
Length: 24 inches
It's crazy to think he has gained nearly 4 pounds and grown 3 inches since he was born!

And, of course, we had to have a little photo shoot with the boy.
He's just too cute!

Isn't it so funny how many faces a baby can make in just a few minutes?!

We honestly can't get enough of this kid. Or his red hair. We get comments about his hair all of the time and we love it! It comes from the Monsen side, and although we're not confident that it will last, we sure are loving it while he's got it!
Brian, Thad and I both get so much joy from him each day.
Thanks for making these 2 months a couple of the best our family has known.
We love you, Baby Wes!

Perfect Ending

The beginning of the end of our perfect trip started out with a fun Wilson family trip to Midway with all our cousins for a weekend in the mountains to enjoy each other's company and celebrate Laney's 8th birthday.

The view alone made us super excited to be there!

This girl loves being at the cabin and it was so fun to celebrate her birthday!
She's a St. Patty's Day baby, so we all got to rock our green while we were there.

I love photo shoots with babies and all the faces they can give you in about 10 seconds flat!

Always have to do the side-by-sides when I remember they wore the same thing!
This onesie was Avery's so it's been fun that both of my boys have been able to wear it.

I sure am lucky to have these two boys for my very own!

We were in the perfect place to spend time as a family and the kids soaked up every minute of being at the "big cabin."

Uncle Riley knows how to have a good time and all the kids took turns getting tossed onto the bean bag and laughing their guts out after landing. So cute!

And then there was the coddling of and fighting over our perfect baby Wes.

I was rarely holding my own child.
I can't believe I didn't get a picture of him with Aunt Jen, because I'm pretty sure she was holding him most of the time...it was a pretty close tie between her and Aunt Haley, AKA Wes' best friend.
It was so perfect to watch my family love that little baby and soak up every minute they could.

The perfect mini getaway in the midst of our perfect getaway.
Thank you Grandma Cindy for our stay at the big cabin!

After the cabin we were able to go and open up wedding gifts with Aunt Kelli and Uncle Merit, which was a total blast! Aunt Missy held this sweetie all night. We sure love her!

The next day, the day before we headed home, we went and helped Aunt Kelli set up her new home.
As you can see these boys love their aunt, and we're so glad we got to see where she has started her new life. What a perfect day to spend with one of our favorites!

Our last day was pretty chill...
This boy got ready with his Grandma Cindy, complete with a rockin' new hair do.
I still haven't been able to replicate it on my own.
Grandma has the special touch!
Spending time with these ladies. . .I could never get too much!
Sconecutter farewell dinner.
There is something about Sconecutter that I just love. It is kinda weird, but I have to go at least once while I'm visiting. It's always so fun that both sides of my family can hang out with each other. It really maximizes our time in Utah.

Honestly - The perfect ending to a perfectly timed vacation with a perfect wedding and a blessing for a perfect baby boy. This will definitely be a trip to remember.

Blessing Perfect Wes

The day after the Monsen-Egan wedding was focused on this perfect baby:

And thanks to these perfect hosts:
Wes' blessing day was absolutely perfect.

It is really such a special experience to have a child blessed. It's amazing to watch my husband pray to understand what our Heavenly Father wants said to one of His youngest earthly children. Heavenly Father watches over us and is aware of us from day one, and a baby blessing is an amazing testament to that, and definitely strengthened my testimony as I heard Brian bless Wes with health, strength and the ability to decipher between right and wrong as the years goes by.
We continue to pray for Wes (and Thad of course) and hope we are teaching him and leading him as our Father would want us to help the special blessings of a mission, temple worthiness and marriage and a strong testimony of our Savior come to be a reality as he grows up in a world where the decisions to make these blessings a reality is only getting harder. The Lord is watching over our family and we are so thankful for the wonderful opportunity to bless our perfect boy.

Our amazing families and friends joined us on this special day to celebrate our perfect baby boy.
We cannot express the love and joy we felt surrounded by these wonderful people.
It sure is an amazing feeling to know our child is loved and not just by us.

These two are so amazing and drove down from Boise with their 4 kids for the occasion.
That's love.
Such great support to have our wonderful friends there.
It is so fun to have all these babies around! They are all so special.

We all enjoyed a delicious lunch thanks to everybody that came, and it's beauty was thanks to a wonderful Aunt Jenny who sure knows how to make a party look good!
And everyone sure seemed to be enjoying themselves!

And I have to say that the cousins seemed to enjoy themselves the most.
Nothing like the whole family being together!
All of them doted over Wes and it was really special for me to watch that.
Things like this make me sit and think about what my babies are missing out on.
But I also know that because we're not close, it makes it that much more special when the cousins do get to be with my boys, and I HAVE to focus on that.

Avery is a mini baby whisperer.
I would consider leaving both of my children in her care. Even if she is only 5.

And thanks to this great lady, our family will enjoy these perfect images that captured our joy from that perfect day.
