May is always a crazy month with sports and beautiful weather and the end of school--and as crazy as it is, I really love it and we had a really good one this year!
I got to start out the month going on a field trip with Wes's 4th Grade class and it was so fun! They usually go to the Ohio History Museum to warp up the state history they have been learning throughout the year, but they barely got the go ahead for field trips in March or April (loosening up of covid protocols), so they couldn't make it work and ended up booking the field trip to the Kelton House, a stop on the Underground Railroad in Columbus!
We only spent about an hour, but the staff did such a good job and the kids learned a lot and saw a lot of cool, historic stuff.
We went to a beautiful park for lunch and the kids had fun with their freedom in the park-
I was the Room Parent for Wes's class and had fun getting to Mrs. Alcox through the year. I didn't get to go into the classroom much (thanks, COVID), but we coordinated a lot through email and I really like her! This was her first year teaching after leaving her career in public relations and I thought she did a phenomenal job.
I sure love this ginger boy of mine and am so glad I got to make this memory with him.
Wes also wrapped up his first season of volleyball and did so awesome!
He was able to over hand serve behind the line and over the net from the beginning and that was one of the few that could, so that was fun. He had never played before and I'm kind of obsessed with the idea of this being his sport, but I need to cool my jets!

We went to the high school game between the Dublin boys teams and it was a lot of fun! Ryan and Wes didn't watch quite as much as we'd hope, but Christine and I are going to MAKE them love volleyball!
Thad wrapped up his first season of track and it was so fun to watch him!
His fastest mile was 5 min 44 sec and we're just so proud of him pushing himself so hard, making new friends, and just going for it into these unknown territories. He's so awesome!
We could hardly believe this one year transformation with this kid-

I love him.
Mother's Day was a major success and I was spoiled, as usual, by my people and it just made me love them all the more.
I could go on and on about how much I love these kids and the title they give me. But I won't. I hope to show them for the rest of my life.
We spent some time outside and I got my hair played with and it was just a great day!
Some sweet little girl moments throughout the month-
Wow!! They're just so cute!
These cutie patooties got a yucky tummy bug that they shared with me and Eve, but Mae got it the worst-
Liv started the whole thing like this and it was downhill from there.
Mae kept that bowl at her side for a few days and it was a rough ride, but she made it through.
And we all felt like this when we made it to the other side!
Thad, Brian, and Eve each ran a race in the Down Syndrome event in Dublin mid-May and had a blast doing it!
Eve killed the fun run and then we waited for Thad to complete the 5k and dad the 10k.
Cutest little fan.
Thad pushed himself pretty hard and felt terrible at the end, but he got an amazing time and was really happy with himself.
Brian was way ahead of all the people and finished the 10k in first place a few minutes ahead of anyone else!
He PR'd and was pretty pumped about it!
He won a major award -- $25 to Bass Pro Shops!

We were able to celebrate our anniversary with a night out in Columbus and it was fabulous-
We've done a lot in 16 years of marriage, and I'm just so grateful we've been able to do it together. We were meant to do this life together and I am more sure of that every passing year.
We had to divide to conquer the Saturday before school was out because Eve had her last tumbling competition in Cincinnati and the boys had their piano recital. I went with Eve to Cinci while dad held the fort down with the other four and went to the recital-
Between the little girls and Thad's lack of enthusiasm about piano, this is as good as the pictures got. Brother Ryan offered his beautiful home for the recital and Brian said the boys did really well. So sad Eve and I had to miss!
Some other random May moments-
Mae being the absolute cutest and reading books in her room by herself.
Also being hilarious falling asleep like this every night...we have to make sure we check on her before we got to sleep because it worries me a little bit!

I was cleaning up the office and found these thank you notes I never put in the mail for Wes...in January...oops!
And then before we knew it, it was the last week of school and then those cute kids were done with 1st, 4th, and 7th Grades! I didn't get last day of school pictures and I'm kicking myself for it! The best I got was some picture at Super Games with Wes's grade-
(Wes's class was going absolutely bonkers and talking and goofing, and Wes just sat at his desk and twirled his hair. I love him so much.)

I wish I would have gotten a picture of Eve with her teacher, Mrs. Makley, but Eve's grade did Super Games in the morning and I didn't get a chance to see her. She loved 1st Grade so much, though!
It didn't take too long for summer relaxation and "do whatever you want" to set in-
We are here for you, summer!!
