Wes' First Birthday Par-tay!

I wanted to have a party for Wes that totally highlighted him. We started out by sending invitations out with a sheet inside asking people to write a letter to our baby boy to be kept in a time capsule until his 18th birthday. We got back some fun stuff, and it will be fun to open and read through them in 17 years!

We had the party the Saturday before his birthday so that we could make it a family outing for those invited. Before the party started we had Emily come over and take some shots of our sweet one year old. There is a lot, so hold on and enjoy the ride..er, this adorable baby of mine!

He got most of his smiles out before the photo shoot actually began:

But don't worry, we squoze out a few smiles once we got down to business:

I love those chubbiest cheeks and gappiest teeth. He is so yummy. 

But after Dad doing a lot of this because he kept crawling off,

We pulled out the big guns:

 This blue one kept him still for a minute...

But then he got them all!!

 Then he started to get ticked because we wouldn't let him crawl off like he wanted to... 

So we called it a wrap, gave him some yummy treats and let brother take over the photo shoot:

Wes didn't mind, and Thad loved having all of Emily's attention!

Man these boys are handsome!

A big thanks to Emily for taking these pictures on a Saturday for a party that she wasn't even invited too, bringing the cupcakes and then letting me borrow her camera.

I have the best friends.

We were kinda hustling around like crazies, but we got everything set up and awaited our guests arrivals.

After all the details were taken care of, it was finally time for the guests to arrive!!

After everyone arrived, we played, ate and played some more! 

After dinner, everyone (the kids) was anxious to open presents!

He was excited about his loot and has enjoyed these things every day since!

I was able to sneak some pictures in with the girls--We loved it!

I obviously wasn't ready, but I LOVE Hanna's face!

She is so animated and it happens all the time so I had to document it so I always remember how much I love her facials! Seriously. Look at that eyebrow action.

And last, but certainly not least...

THE CAKE!

 As you can see, he loved the candle, but wasn't too sure about the cake...He caught on pretty quick, though!

Thad enjoyed the cake, and Wes soon caught on and got really into it because we left him there for so long afterwards while everyone was gathering their things to go.

All I can say is that we absolutely adore the one year old and this was the perfect party to celebrate the wonderful year we have had with him.

I hope he will always feel the love and support that surrounds him now. He is a special boy and this has been a special year.
