Time in Cache Valley

Making it to Cache Valley to spend time with Bre is always near the top of my list when planning trips to Utah. Not only is one of my bestest friends there, but Logan will always hold a special place in my heart after living there for five wonderful years. Visiting is always double awesome with the nostalgia and time spent with my friend!

We got to Cache Valley on Wednesday evening, had dinner and then Bre and I headed to a High Fitness class that was a lot of fun! It was definitely more crowed than my High class in Texas, but just as awesome! When we got back, we put kids to bed and chatted until late. I knew it would be the only time we had to hang out, just her and I, so we made it count and had a wonderful night. The next morning some more of our favorite people started showing up! The Henries, the Hills and the Palmers all came to spend a fun day at Hyrum Dam and that's definitely what it was, a FUN day!
We started with lunch and some playing at Bre's house (she is so awesome to host all of us!) and then headed to the dam for a day on the water.
Just another bunch of adorable kids!

It took us a while to haul all of our gear down to the water, but we are pretty buff and awesome and got. It. Done. We found the perfect spot on the grass and got our kids going. Tons of fun stuff to float on or with made this an awesome day for moms and kids!

Thad and Leah had an awesome time being little dare devils together. They jumped off the highest railing of the doc together over and over again and loved it! They would paddle out on the kayaks and see who could keep balance the longest while standing on them and listening to their genuine laughter was a lot of fun. Reasons like that are why I go through all the trouble to go all the places to see all the people. Fun experiences burn memories in our brains and it is all worth it!

We had quite the group that day and it was one of my favorite days of our whole trip! I love that my sister can join my friends and we can all just have fun. Breanne is just the best of the best and I'm so grateful she was willing to do what needed to be done to make this happen. Ember ended up throwing up in the morning so she left her babies home and we were kinda bummed they couldn't come, but she just rolls with it and doesn't skip a beat! And we were pretty maxed out on our adult to child ratio so it was probably a good thing her baby girls stayed home with grandma. ;-)

When we got back to her place that evening Derek and Bre's parents had set up a huge blow up slide for the kids to go wild on and they loved it!

Again, all fun and games until someone gets hurt...
Poor Eliza ended up breaking her foot while she was getting off the slide. So random! Especially because they were all being wild on the slide, but it ended up happening when she was sliding down to the grass from the bottom of the slide. It kinda put a damper on the night for her, but she was tough and got a boot the next day after Tar took her to the Instacare and got x-rays.
After Haley and Brigitte left we had a fire and s'mores in the backyard and it was the perfect end to such a fabulous day (minus the foot injury)!
Bre's house and yard are pretty dreamy. I wouldn't mind living there if I had to.

After a good night's sleep and some more playing at Bre's house, we ended our time in Cache Valley at our favorite dessert spot getting Aggie Ice Cream!

We somehow managed to get all the kids up there (Eliza couldn't walk, Ivy wanted her mama and Margo is immobile), but we did! Taryn is an absolute rock star and didn't let that boot get in her way.

Sometimes it makes me sad that I live far apart from these women, but I'm so glad for the time I did get to spend with them. It had been far too long. And Margo (that perfect, chubby baby on my hip) made me want a thousand (ok, maybe just one or two) more babies because she is just absolute perfection. She hardly cried, doesn't move much and let me cart her around instead of her mama. And those chubby legs were just to die for!
Love you so much, friends! I'm so grateful for all these wonderful memories!
