We were SO HAPPY to have Brian back after 2.5 weeks and headed straight from Cache Valley to the SLC airport to pick him up. We hit some gnarly traffic and he ended up waiting for us, but we got him and couldn't have been happier about it! We went straight to Grandma Cindy's, dropped the kids off and walked over the Gerber's house for their daughter Victoria's wedding reception.
The fun story behind this picture is that we set the groom, Matt Isaac, up with Kayci last summer shortly after they had both returned from their missions. He served in our area in Round Rock for several months and after having him in our home a few times I was so excited about connecting with him and setting him up with Kayci. When he set up the date they decided to each bring a friend and meet half way between Brigham City and West Jordan. Kayci brought Victoria (who is the little sister of one of my good friends from my home ward) and Matt's friend and her hit it off so well because they both served in Argentina and couldn't stop talking about it. Obviously nothing happened between Matt and Kayci, but Victoria and Matt reconnected after they both started going to school in Logan that Fall and here they are getting hitched! I know they may have met up in Logan without our help, but it was fun knowing we played a small roll in these two great kids getting married!
We hurried out of the reception and headed straight to the Madsens for a BBQ with the Fauxes and Hills. We love these three families SO MUCH and know parties like this will continue to happen over many more years to come!
Boys just making fun of girls.
And this adorable offspring of ours just makes me happy! I can't wait to see how much it changes over the years.
SILLY FACES!
Before heading to the cabin (which will get a post all of its own) we squeezed in plenty of fun things!
Eve and I helped Grandma Cindy mow her lawn-
Scheels-
What is a trip to Utah without a trip to Scheels?
Naps-
The Temple-
And a visit to Uncle Correy and Aunt Missy's house-
Missy and Correy bought this darling home in the Millcreek area a couple years ago and we had yet to see it. We couldn't let this summer pass without seeing it and I'm so glad we didn't. They have done such a great job renovating inside and out and it was so fun to see their creative handy work.
The kids were more than excited to spend an evening in the pool, watching TV and eating ice cream with two of our favorites!
Another house with another gorgeous view! Those mountains never get old.
