Easter has become one of my favorite holidays and I love celebrating it with my family. The last couple years we have focused on the week leading up to the atonement and crucifixion of the Savior which lead to the greatest gift and promise of His resurrection.
Palm Sunday was humbly celebrated in our living room with tree branches from the back yard and rides on a "donkey's" back-
We decorated Easter eggs on Tuesday and dyed the first egg red signifying the blood of the Savior and the gift of new life-
Brian is always so great to take over this project. I don't love doing it, so I set it all up and he takes over the rest. Love these people!
On Thursday Wes had his preschool party and it was a huge hit! Ms. Shelley knows how to put on an egg hunt!
Later that night I attended a special production of The Last Supper at our neighbor's, Thon and Wendy's, church. Thon played the role of Thaddaeus and did a fabulous job! It was very well done and brought the spirit of Easter a little closer for me. Only I was able to attend while Thad and Brian were on a hike at scouts, but Eve and Wes had a blast in the child care and I enjoyed watching a beautiful production with the best neighbors ever.
Wesley spotted his name in the parking lot on a sign on the way out and thought it was pretty awesome. I love that grin!
Easter Sunday was here before we knew it and the kids were extra excited because besides Wes' preschool party, we didn't do any other "hunting" before the big day. They were up bright and early, ready to go!
Thad maybe needed a hint or two after helping Wes and Eve locate their baskets, but he did finally find it!
After they emptied their baskets, it was finally time for the egg hunt!
Success!
We had beautiful weather so we headed outside to enjoy some of the Easter loot.
And then some shots in our Easter best before heading to church at 11am-
This little family of mine means everything to me, even when I don't act like it with them. I am eternally grateful they are mine Because of Him.
We ended our day with a fancy Easter dinner that I wish we would have had with family, but it didn't work out this year...next year for sure!
