Hogle Zoo with the Fauxes
We planned this outing with the Fauxes a while before we came because they have a pass, so we thought it would be the perfect day to spend together as friends.
Kristen also knew about Thad's love of dinosaurs and thought he might enjoy "Zoo-rassic Park" that the the zoo was featuring.
We thought he would too.
Boy, were we all wrong!
Thad and animatronics do not mix well. We'll have to remember that.
He DID love seeing all the other animals at the zoo...
and loved imitating them too!
Laney was of course an angel the entire time...She is such a beauty!
We ran into Aunt Kaylee there with her friend and it was so nice for Brian to be able to see her one last time before he headed back to Connecticut.
Thad was also a little weary of the carousel, but he toughed it out for one ride.
By the end of the day Thad was warming up to the dinosaurs that didn't make much movement or noise.
He is such a hoot and always keeping us on our toes!
Thanks for a day at the zoo, Fauxes!
Swimming with the Madsens
The Madsens moved into a new home in Herriman while we were visiting, so we were invited to spend a night with some of our favorite people and take advantage of their new amenities.
The pool is just up the street from their house and even though we got there a little late, everyone had a blast!
Two prego mamas trying to look their best poolside. ;-)
Thad and Sadie hanging out in the shallow end.
Sadie had NO FEAR of the water and would put her head under while spinning and jumping.
Thad needs to take some dare devil lessons from her!
Post swim bath.
These two are so darling and Sadie Mae is one of the people we truly miss most.
Thanks for a wonderful night, Madsen Family.
We love you!
Happy Pioneer Day
We were so excited to be in Utah for the state holiday and there was definitely no better place to celebrate than good ol' Kanosh!
The night before we were able to meet up with the whole Christensen family for a swim party in Filmore.
Crew.Grant.Thad
These boys hit it off and ran around after each other the whole night!
The morning of we ran in the Kanosh 5k and it was a blast! Brian and Todd were pretty close to the front and luckily, Kelli and Kelsie hung back with the pregnant woman so I wouldn't have to run by myself.
Thad congratulating Dad on a successful race with a mouth full of Grandma Teresa's famous rice pudding.
Off to the parade--
Proud to be Americans and Utahns!
(Bottom right- Thad and Kelli doing the "Merit Dance" in lieu of Merit)
Next it was off the the park for lunch, games and relaxing.
Dad made it back from golfing in time for the foot races.
Thad did so well and loved running so FAST!
Grandpa Christensen is a GEM and we are always more than excited to spend time with him...especially in Kanosh! He is such a great man and so sweet to all of us. We love him so much and hope he knows it!
