Here are the people Brian got to spend 2 days with in a van. They are all awesome!
Having fun waiting and cheering for the other runners on their team.
Everyone feeling good after their first run and getting ready for the second run in the middle of the night.
Crazy!
Brian all nice and reflecty for his second run, 4.5 miles, at 2:00 a.m. He said it was hard, but so fun to be with everyone and run in the middle of the night.
Luckily the other van got a hotel for the few hours they were able to sleep and after their second run, Brian's van was able to catch a few z's and a shower back at that same hotel.
Mike finishing out his last leg of the race and feeling pretty beat up. His shin splints and knees haven't been treating him too well and he felt pretty beat up after running about 15 miles in 2 days.
Brian waiting for the last hand off from Mike.
His last run was at about 11:30 a.m. on Saturday and he killed it! He forgot his watch for the race, but he said he felt great and finished strong.
Go Brian!!!!
There were 2 more runners after Brian and luckily I got to ride up with one of the other runner's wife and meet them at the finish line at the Harvard football stadium. Thad and I were so excited to see daddy and watch him cross the finish line with his whole team:
Way to go, Unconquerable Soles!
Final time: 29 hours 1 minute 50 seconds

We hung out for a while at the finish line and just basked in the sun and enjoyed the major accomplishment!
Thad insisted on crossing the finish line with Dad too!
What a champ...
Maybe we have a track star on our hands...?!
Before we headed back to Rhode Island to spend the weekend with Kaitie and Mike, we took ourselves on a little tour of Harvard's Business School.
Thad loved running some more, of course, found this ladder and started doing agility drills. ;-)
Brian and Mike being Asian-like tourists with the peace signs. They loved checking the place out and imagining Mark Zuckerberg on the very same campus.
Dad and Thad in front of the Dean's house.
Dad and Thad running some more. That kid has energy like the Energizer Bunny!
As you can see, Harvard has a beautiful campus! I didn't think I would enjoy walking around as much as I did. It is a very prestigious place and it definitely felt like it. What a fun little experience!
It was a crazy couple days for Brian, and he and Mike CRASHED that night, but both said it was totally worth it. It is so fun to have so many great people in our lives to share these things with. Brian is an awesome runner and I'm so glad he was able to do this! Maybe one day he and Thad can run one together..?
