Random August Awesomeness

August was a long time ago. I know. Be prepared to catch up with the Monsens over the next several days as I try to catch up before the holidays are upon us!

Wes' First Primary Talk
August 14, 2016
Wes memorized and delivered "You Can't Play Tag with a Turtle" just as perfectly as his older brother Thad did. We warned him that some kids might laugh a little because it's funny, but he didn't let it phase him and he loved every moment of the attention!
It is so fun to watch Brian help our kids with something that he did himself as a child. Traditions are the best.
Check out this boys' satisfied face-

I have to say, this boy is pretty loved by all that know him!
Great job, Wesley man, we love you!

Before school started-
We got to spend a fun day with Dax and Mila! I caught this moment of all of them reading and loved it!

We attended the entirety of Back to School Night because I decided to take on a PTA role as the Math Pentathalon Coordinator. It has been pretty terrible, but things are finally (yes, it's the end of October as I write this) smoothing out and my three teams of mathletes are practicing in full force!

Dad got a new Roku for his birthday and Thad gave us a little glimpse into his teenage years! ;-)

After school started, the fun didn't stop and we still spent plenty of time outside soaking up summer.

Watching an awesome lightening storm on an August night.
This picture doesn't give it justice, but gives you an idea of the awesomeness:

We love to go running at the track as a family and this morning was no exception-
Watching Eve imitate her dad and brothers is probably the cutest ever.

She probably totaled two laps of running that day. Very impressive for an almost 2-year old!

I love to watch her brothers watch out for her-

Brian and I couldn't believe it when Wes did a flip into the pool, but before I knew it all three of them were doing it together!

For Brian's birthday date we went to a yummy new place called Blue Apron for dinner and then saw "Hunt for the Wilderpeople." If you haven't seen it, please look it up and do everything in your power to see it. We loved it!

And to finish things off here are some shots of my people being the darling, awesome, crazy, coo coo people they are!

And the best for last-
Isn't she a nut?!
She's a cute nut, but a nut none the less!!
