This year Thad and Dad shared a special day: Thad's first day of SECOND grade and Dad's 32nd birthday! We made sure that both felt extra special on this big day and it was a success.
Brian started his big day off with a run (one of his favorite things) while I got "color pancakes" started for our second grader's big day.
This breakfast has become our first day of school tradition and I can't complain because it is an easy one! Bisquick + Food Coloring = Easiest Tradition Ever
Little effort, great reward!
Thad really wanted to celebrate Dad before he left for school so we took some pictures, opened presents and wished lots of happy wishes.
The kids gave him Longhorns gear and a GIANT Nutella-
What more could a dad ask for?!
These cute kids are pretty obsessed with their daddy and had no trouble making him feel like the amazing guy he is. He makes it really easy on us.
After our fun with dad we took pictures on the porch and walked Thad up to school as a family.

How did this happen?!
Thad seriously gets smarter and more fun every passing year and I am just so proud of who he is becoming.
Eve and Wes had to sport their backpacks as well and walked the whole way to school with them. I love this little family of mine.
I guess it gets less and less cool to walk your kid into their classroom because there were no other parents there. Thad didn't care and still let me take some cute pictures of him anyways!
Thad got Ms. Chamberlain and was so excited when she came to our door for the Welcome Walk (my most favorite Texas tradition) because two of his friends have had her and liked her. She is lucky to have him and I hope they have a fabulous year together!
Not very many of his First Grade classmates are in his class, but he did play football with James (the boy sitting next to him in the background) last year and they have become best buds. It always makes a mom happy when she knows her child has a friend at school.
Lots of good things to come in A109 this year.

During the day Eve, Wes and I prepped for the rest of our celebrating of the birthday boy-
And for dinner we headed to a burger joint Brian has been wanting to try-
It was a hit!
We all left with full tummies but skipped the free shaved ice to head home and enjoy daddy's favorite birthday treat-
German chocolate cake!
It kinda looks like a hamburger cake, but that was a happy accident and did not taste like a hamburger.
Happiest of happy birthdays to the greatest 32 year old we know. Brian literally makes our world go round, we couldn't do it without him.
