My red-headed, fun-loving, stubborn, lisping, charismatic, car-loving boy turned three years old today!
Yep, you read that right...THREE!
And he couldn't be more excited about it! We have been talking this birthday up big time and he was super excited to wake up and see what was in store for his special day.
We made him wait a while to get everyone ready for the day because Dad and Thad had school and his friends were coming at 9am for playgroup and he was so excited when we said he could FINALLY go downstairs!
He loved seeing the balloons and presents for him and was such a good sport to admire it all and take a bunch of pictures!
He wanted to get to the presents before breakfast, so he opened one from Thad...
Thad bought that Zombie monster truck with his own money and Wes was thrilled to add it to his collection!
Wes really liked the shoes we gave him, too. He had to eat breakfast with them!
Thad didn't want to leave his birthday brother for the day, but we got him and dad off to school, picked up the birthday cake, and headed home to wait for playgroup to start at 9am.
Wes looks forward to play group every Thursday and it worked out perfectly to host for his birthday and have some fun with friends.
He couldn't stop asking about the cake and was so excited when it was finally cake time!

They were all so excited about having a cupcake for their 10am snack, but I think Tagg and Eve were the most satisfied...
We spent the rest of the day playing the iPad, getting presents delivered to the doorstep, napping, Facetiming, exploring the new presents, round two of cupcakes with brother, and waiting for dad to get home.
Joey and Wes being awesome three-year olds!
As soon as dad walked in the door, Wes caught him up on everything he missed out on-
And asked if he could FINALLY open the rest of his gifts!
We headed to Chick Fil A for dinner and this boy had fun getting his energy out that had built up from staying inside all day because of the constant down pour of rain.
We topped the night off with a "play shower," Facetime from Grandma Cindy and Grandpa Kent, a Heraldo story, and scriptures on the iPad.
I think that makes up a pretty awesome third birthday for a pretty awesome boy!
This Wes boy of ours is so special and here are three things I love...no, adore, about my Wes:
3) His smile.
It is so happy and contagious I can't help but smile when he does. If I'm upset with him he always says, "Smile, mom! Smile!" and most of the time it works. I smile and forget about whatever it was he did to upset me.
2) His brotherly love.
This boy adores his big brother and not much makes him more happy. I'm glad he got a good one to look up to! He is beyond sweet with his baby sister and I never get sick of his high pitched, "Hi, baby sister!" every morning and random times throughout the day.
1) His spunk and charisma.
This boy loves chatting with anyone, any time. He makes people feel like he cares. He is such a leader and knows what he wants and finds creative ways to get it. Brian and I tease that he could be a gang leader or president of the United States. We will work to channel it for the good we know he is.
Happiest third birthday to my Wesley boy, we love you!
