Eve Turns TWO!

I want to say all the cliche things about how I can't believe that Eve is already two years old, but to be honest, I can hardly remember our time without her so it seems like she has been around forever! She makes all of us so incredibly happy and I'm so glad her brothers and dad have her because they sure are softies when it comes to our favorite baby sister.

Her birthday morning started off with Thad, Wes and I waking her up by singing her Happy Birthday! We needed her to wake up so she could open her present from the boys before Thad headed to school. We sure love birthdays around our house. In case you didn't know...we do.

Thad is always sad to miss out on birthdays if he has to go to school, but opening a present remedies that sadness pretty quick. This girl is lucky to have those two!
She had a super fancy birthday breakfast of Cinnamon Crunch. Double lucky.

Our only plans for the day were to hang out, have a friend for lunch and party as a family in the evening. She got plenty of FaceTime, attention from mom and just about anything else that she wanted.

We had a delightful lunch date with Sevi and Abby and it was just the perfect little get together for our perfect girl.

She would not let me get a picture with the candle lit because she was just way to excited about blowing that thing out like daddy had a couple weeks before on his own birthday cake-

After a yummy lunch and some ice cream, playing with new toys was fun for all!

And Kristen stopped by to spoil our Eve even more!
We know the best people!

We had to re-roller her hair for birthday cake pictures, of course.

The rest of the night was spent as a family celebrating our most favorite girl on her big day. We all loved every minute!

(Don't worry, I don't think that drool actually hit the cake. Not that it would have really mattered anyways.)

I asked Brian to be my model while I tested the timer on the camera, and this is what I got!
Well, his modeling paid off and we got a pretty good family pic :)

And after all the pictures, it was finally time for presents!

As you can tell we got pretty fancy with the wrapping and used all of the shipping materials her gifts came in. We know how to fancy things up around here!
This stroller from Grandma Cindy and Grandpa Kent was for sure her fave that night, but she has come to love all of them since then.

It was hard to divert her attention for a little Face Time with Grandma Teresa, but she was excited once she saw who it was!

Showing off-

And she showed Grandma what a big girls she was riding around on her new trike!

And that wraps up a fabulous day we had celebrating the most fabulous girl!

This picture has been fun to recreate with all my kiddos and that zucchini chocolate cake I have made for each one of them has been delicious every time!

Two things we adore about our two year old Eve:
1. Her eyes. She can imitate all of our looks and uses them to get just about anything she wants. She makes us laugh all the time with the different things she does with her eyes.
2. The way she loves her brothers. Every morning she wakes up and says, "Brother (Thad) go? Wessey go?" and it is just the cutest thing for me to hear. She cares about them and wants to be with them whenever she can and I love it!

Cheers to two years, baby girl!
We can't wait to see all your wishes come true!

Random August Awesomeness

August was a long time ago. I know. Be prepared to catch up with the Monsens over the next several days as I try to catch up before the holidays are upon us!

Wes' First Primary Talk
August 14, 2016
Wes memorized and delivered "You Can't Play Tag with a Turtle" just as perfectly as his older brother Thad did. We warned him that some kids might laugh a little because it's funny, but he didn't let it phase him and he loved every moment of the attention!
It is so fun to watch Brian help our kids with something that he did himself as a child. Traditions are the best.
Check out this boys' satisfied face-

I have to say, this boy is pretty loved by all that know him!
Great job, Wesley man, we love you!

Before school started-
We got to spend a fun day with Dax and Mila! I caught this moment of all of them reading and loved it!

We attended the entirety of Back to School Night because I decided to take on a PTA role as the Math Pentathalon Coordinator. It has been pretty terrible, but things are finally (yes, it's the end of October as I write this) smoothing out and my three teams of mathletes are practicing in full force!

Dad got a new Roku for his birthday and Thad gave us a little glimpse into his teenage years! ;-)

After school started, the fun didn't stop and we still spent plenty of time outside soaking up summer.

Watching an awesome lightening storm on an August night.
This picture doesn't give it justice, but gives you an idea of the awesomeness:

We love to go running at the track as a family and this morning was no exception-
Watching Eve imitate her dad and brothers is probably the cutest ever.

She probably totaled two laps of running that day. Very impressive for an almost 2-year old!

I love to watch her brothers watch out for her-

Brian and I couldn't believe it when Wes did a flip into the pool, but before I knew it all three of them were doing it together!

For Brian's birthday date we went to a yummy new place called Blue Apron for dinner and then saw "Hunt for the Wilderpeople." If you haven't seen it, please look it up and do everything in your power to see it. We loved it!

And to finish things off here are some shots of my people being the darling, awesome, crazy, coo coo people they are!

And the best for last-
Isn't she a nut?!
She's a cute nut, but a nut none the less!!
