27 Man from Heaven

This cute guy had his 27th birthday and it was so much fun to celebrate him!
Luckily he is so easy going and didn't even mind that Thad and I spent his whole day at the beach with our visitors.
He's a gem.
Luckily the weekend before his b-day Brig was willing to watch Thad while I took Brian to pick out what he wanted at Best Buy.
This is what he chose.
He's obsessed. In a good way!
We were also able to go to dinner at a nice Italian Restaurant in town. It was a perfect night.

We're so lucky we get this guy all to ourselves.

The Blog is Back

So unfortunately our blog has fallen to the way side this summer. But I am here to say, "NO MORE!" I will keep up with my blog because it haunts me nearly everyday. It haunts me because I have made a decision to print this each year and use it as my Memory Keeper. I think about all the pictures I have and that I am going to get too far behind to catch up if I don't start now.

Being in my first trimester for the majority of this summer did not help out my blogging cause. June was a doozey with me feeling sick and unmotivated for most of the month along with my overpowering desire to get on a plane to Utah didn't help that out either. But now, NO MORE EXCUSES! My 4 week vacation to the beautiful Beehive State has remedied the problems spoken of and I am ready to get my blogging back on!

Because of the aforementioned situation, my next few posts will be LOTS of pictures with brief descriptions. Better than nothing, right!?

Let the games begin!!!

UTAH - After Dad Left

Thad and I were lucky enough to spend a whole extra week in Utah while Dad adjusted to his new job back in the city.

We were able to see so many people and just enjoy spending time with those we love most!

Birthday Dinner

It was a little late, but we finally took Brig out for her birthday and just loved having a girl's night!

Logan
Heidi and I drove up to Cache Valley together and spent the night to visit some of the greats we came to know and love while living in that beautiful valley!

Amy and Niki are such amazing gals from the bookstore.
Last minute, we decided to go swimming when Brielle and Thad acted terrified of the fountains at the splash pad.
 This was much more successful!
After a fun sleepover at the Miller's, we met back up with Heidi and Sadie at the park to head down south.
On our way back, we stopped at Lindsay Grover's house in Ogden for lunch and a play date.
So fun to see all these kids that all knew each other when they were just tiny babies living the student life in Logan!

Chillin'

Thad loved entertaining and being entertained by Aunt Kelli and Merit. They are so much fun to be with!
3 besties hanging out at Haley's house just catching up on life...Love you gals!
Bath time at Grandma Cindy's!
(I promise we didn't torture the kids by putting bubbles in their eyes)

Swimming
Uncle Riley and Aunt Jen moved into a beautiful new home last summer and got the pool up and running this summer, so it was of course a HUGE hit!

Ledoux just being the awesome kid he is and earning his allowance while the rest of us play.

Goodbye

We had a little goodbye dinner at Sconecutter before we headed back east and it was lots of fun to just hang out with Grandpa Kent and Grandma Cindy.

This summer was such a blast and we were so blessed to do all the things we squeezed in! We always love a trip home and can't wait to see everyone again!

UTAH - Before Dad Left

After we returned from the cabins, we had to get some last minute fun in before Dad headed back to Connecticut to become a big New Yorker! We gladly filled every moment with people we love and adore.

Hogle Zoo with the Fauxes
We planned this outing with the Fauxes a while before we came because they have a pass, so we thought it would be the perfect day to spend together as friends.
Kristen also knew about Thad's love of dinosaurs and thought he might enjoy "Zoo-rassic Park" that the the zoo was featuring.
We thought he would too.
 Boy, were we all wrong!
Thad and animatronics do not mix well. We'll have to remember that.
He DID love seeing all the other animals at the zoo...
and loved imitating them too!
Laney was of course an angel the entire time...She is such a beauty!
We ran into Aunt Kaylee there with her friend and it was so nice for Brian to be able to see her one last time before he headed back to Connecticut.
Thad was also a little weary of the carousel, but he toughed it out for one ride.
By the end of the day Thad was warming up to the dinosaurs that didn't make much movement or noise.
He is such a hoot and always keeping us on our toes!

Thanks for a day at the zoo, Fauxes!

Swimming with the Madsens

The Madsens moved into a new home in Herriman while we were visiting, so we were invited to spend a night with some of our favorite people and take advantage of their new amenities.
The pool is just up the street from their house and even though we got there a little late, everyone had a blast!

Two prego mamas trying to look their best poolside. ;-)
Thad and Sadie hanging out in the shallow end.
Sadie had NO FEAR of the water and would put her head under while spinning and jumping.
Thad needs to take some dare devil lessons from her!
Post swim bath.
These two are so darling and Sadie Mae is one of the people we truly miss most.

Thanks for a wonderful night, Madsen Family.
We love you!

Happy Pioneer Day
We were so excited to be in Utah for the state holiday and there was definitely no better place to celebrate than good ol' Kanosh!

The night before we were able to meet up with the whole Christensen family for a swim party in Filmore.
Crew.Grant.Thad
These boys hit it off and ran around after each other the whole night!
The morning of we ran in the Kanosh 5k and it was a blast! Brian and Todd were pretty close to the front and luckily, Kelli and Kelsie hung back with the pregnant woman so I wouldn't have to run by myself.
Thad congratulating Dad on a successful race with a mouth full of Grandma Teresa's famous rice pudding.
 Off to the parade--
Proud to be Americans and Utahns!
(Bottom right- Thad and Kelli doing the "Merit Dance" in lieu of Merit)

Next it was off the the park for lunch, games and relaxing.

Dad made it back from golfing in time for the foot races.
Thad did so well and loved running so FAST!

Grandpa Christensen is a GEM and we are always more than excited to spend time with him...especially in Kanosh! He is such a great man and so sweet to all of us. We love him so much and hope he knows it!
