So Far, So Good

Well it's only been 12 days since my last post, so I think I can say that I am keeping up with my goal pretty good. We have done a lot of fun Christmas things over the past couple of weeks so I thought it would be good to document things before Christmas.
Anyways, things are still good at the Monsen household. It has been so much fun to have Brian around a little more with school being out for the holidays. It has also been nice that the college kids are home for the holidays because that means an empty parking lot and less people to worry about. Thad is of course doing well and just keeps us happy all the time! We have had so much fun through the holiday season and can't wait to have Christmas Day with him.
So Brian got really excited about my Christmas present on the 13th and me harassing him about losing our 80 GB gave him a little more push to give me my gift early. He got me and 8 GB iPod Touch! I love it a lot and we have been enjoying it a lot the past couple weeks.
Brigitte and Leah came up to see us last week and it was a lot of fun! We went shopping and went and saw Breanne and Brielle and it was just too much fun. Sometimes we just can't wait to live close to cousins:-)
Thad's new favorite thing is the bathtub! Until last Saturday we still put him in his infant tub cuz he still fit (and I have seen Sadie in the tub before and she is wild and I wasn't quite ready to deal with that;-), but now he just LOVES splashing and playing and he cries every time I get him out.

We had a party with our institute/Mom friends and it was SOOO much fun! This is Thad w/ Kate.
Sarah and Jason, Kate's mommy and daddy
Lindsay and Stephen (Thanks for the yummy Oreo balls...I ate them all on Monday when I was done with Biggest Loser)
Erin and Justin Wilson
Scott, Kelsey and Halley
Cohen, Preston and Shawnee
Sadie and Thad just hanging out...Sadie was really tired, but when her dad took her clothes off she got a second wind and just went wild in her undies. Thad was hot, so we ditched the pants!
White Elephants. Teresa got these sick hotpads when she lived in Delta and we have taken them to a white elephant before and ended up with them. I showed Heidi a while ago and she just loved them...so here she is with her holiday hot pads. Oh, and we got a sweet Sponge Bob backpack.
Heidi and Jason were so sweet to let us have the party at their house. Love the sweater, Jason!
Us at the party.
So it's no secret that Heidi just absolutely loves Thad's cheeks. She kisses them any chance she gets so I had to catch it on camera!
So we had a party with just the Madsens last night (at their house again) and it was a lot of fun!
Thad is scared of the light up Santa.
We had a little FHE and sang a song and watched Joy to the World.
Then we dressed Sadie and Thad up. Isn't that sweet! Thad cried for a really long time before we got this picture because he hates having stuff on his head, but hey, it was worth it!
Sadie gave Thad a Christmas book and Heidi and Jason gave us a sweet ice scraper with a mit! Thanks guys!
Sadie and Thad in their jammies. They are just such a joy to us and I'm so glad they have brought our two families together...I don't think it would be the same without these two little sweeties.

New Goal

I just thought of it as I have been looking at other peoples blogs, but I am going to be a better blogger. Heidi and Taryn's blogs are so great cuz they are actually updated and so people enjoy looking at them. I know, Heidi you were right!
Well, the holidays are going great and we had so much fun for Thanksgiving. We went to Kanosh with Brian's side of the family and it was FABULOUS! We love Kanosh so much and are so sad that we can't go to the Christmas party this weekend:-( It is one of the highlights of the Christmas season for us with the yummy food, awesome Yankee swap, and of course ANIMAL! We are really going to miss out. It makes me sad thinking about it!
This is Thad with Great Grandpa Christensen in Kanosh...Do you think they look alike? We LOVE Grandpa C and he was so nice to let us stay with him during Thanksgiving.

On Saturday night after Thanksgiving, we had dinner with  my family (after the U lost:-( and it was a lot of fun!

Macie is 5 months older than Thad...She weighs 3 pounds less and they are the same height.

Aren't these hams adorable!

You just gotta love this kid!

So I promise to be better about my blogging. I even changed my background for the season...that's a major improvement for me!

Fall & Halloween Fun!

-->We have just had a way fun fall up here in Logan. We spend most of our time up here because we have to, but it has been so great because we are able to spend a lot more time with our friends up here that we won't be able to see as often when we move back to SLC, so we are just enjoying the time up here while we can. I am still doing great managing the complex and Brian is still super busy with school, so life is just trucking along and we really couldn't be any happier right now. Here are some pics of the fun things we have been able to do in the fun fall weather.

The kids at Ty's football game...they didn't win, but the girls love playing with Thaddy Pants & Ty did great!

Thad has been teething this month and gotten  his 2 bottom teeth so Tylenol has been a staple:-)
He has also learned to stand up on EVERYTHING and this was the first time I saw him do it when he wouldn't go down for a nap. He is now all over the place and trying to stand up on anything that is bigger than him...They grow too fast!

Thad loves playing with or just being around Daddy whenever he can!
We went to the Pumpkin Walk here in Logan with Miss Sadie and Thad just loved being outside and seeing all the fun things people did with the pumpkins.

Thad was obviously a chicken for H-ween and there are him and Sadie with all the treats they got Trick-or-treating...it wasn't that successful;-)

As you can see, we kept the barnyard theme in the family!

We had a fun H-ween party at Heidi and Jason's and Ben & Kristen were able to come and join us from the good ol' WJ! It was so fun to have them up and we had good food, good company and just some good old fashioned fun! We played a funny game where you put a grapefruit in the nylon, tie it around your waist, and move the apple across the floor with only the grapefruit...it was hilarious!

www.askfitnesscoach.com

So I'm putting this link on my blog because I think it's actually pretty cool. It's Cassidy Weiler Meine's husband's website and it's just starting, but I think it's going to be pretty great. You can ask pretty much any fitness question ever and they will do the research for you and answer your question on their website. Check it out!

Life is Good

I know it's been a while, but things are going so good with the Monsen Clan! We can't believe how big Thad is getting. He is crawling like a champ and he has just got a personality of his own. Being his mom is the best thing ever and I can't even imagine life without him.

Just to tell you what we're up to...Brian is so busy with the Masters of Accounting program, but loves it so much! He was born to crunch numbers! I never told everyone that the outcome of his internship in the summer with Deloitte turned into a full-time offer after he graduates in the spring. He won't start until September 2010, but we know we will be in Salt Lake and he has a solid job. We are so grateful for the job security, especially in this crazy economy. He is so excited to work for such a great company!

I'm still staying at home managing the apartment complex and I couldn't ask for anything more perfect for me in my life right now. I get to stay home with Thad and also be such a help to the family financially. I know that for so many new moms, especially when dad is in school, it is so hard to find something that will work for the whole family. Again, we are so blessed to be in the position that we are. The kids haven't given us a hard time (knock on wood) and we get to close the swimming pool in a couple of weeks, so that will take the major responsibility off of my list.

We love Logan a lot right now and we are just trying to make the most of our last year living up here. Sometimes I have put off the impression that I don't love Logan so much, but I know I'm going to miss it next summer when we have to move. We love our ward and it has been so much fun to be up here with my close friends, Bre and Haley. Also Since Kelli has moved up to school it has just been a blast to live so close to her and see her everyday. I have also made some awesome friends from our ward, school and work that I can't imagine not being friends with. Logan is a great place and I would recommend it to anyone!

It's a cute little monster!

We love Aunt Kelli!

Eeeek!

Grandpa & Grandma Wilson, Aunt Haley, Ty
Laney and Avery all came to visit us in Logan
