Haley S.

Ok, so I know her name isn’t Haley S. anymore, but I just can’t stop calling her that. We’ve known each other for 15 years and for 10 of them she was Haley S., so I guess I get to call her that until she’s been married more years than I knew her single. :) This gal is one of my best friends and I couldn’t be any more happy or grateful for her effort and priority that she gives to visiting me all the way back here. I love this girl. I love that she’s my best friend. I love that she came.

Let’s just start out with saying my boys love doing ANYTHING with her.
She makes any little thing more fun and it’s because she listens to them (Thad) and watches out for them.
She knows about Thad’s animatronic fears (how can you not when going to the Cow Store…it is where the fear started), and she kinda thought Huge Costume Cow would fit into that category.
She got wide-eyed when it was coming up behind Thad, and said “Look, buddy!” He jumped and laugh/screamed “You scared me!”
He didn’t cry but he stuck pretty close to Haley as you can see. I wish I would have gotten Wes smiling and cooing and the cow. He loved it.

This picture was just to show matching shirts.
I love matching, but don’t do it often. I hope they don’t mind over the years. :)

So, back to Haley making anything more fun:

Computer games (because she will actually figure out how to play and show him what to do) and costumes.
I hesitated posting these pictures pre Halloween, but I couldn’t resist. We got it in the mail the day she got here and he hung out in it most of the weekend.

She also let him hang on her like this several times to play her iPad.
Why wouldn’t he want to play with hers over Dad’s? She let him download a hundred free games and tinker with them all!
She is so laid back and fun, and that definitely attracts the kiddos.
Seriously, he loves her.

He also got a chance to bake with one of the best bakers I know!
Making cookies with Haley is probably a good memory for just about anybody that has spent a decent amount of time with her.
Thad was a good helper and Haley was a great baking mentor.

Thanks to my sweet husband we were able to spend all day Saturday in the city, just the two of us.
After doing an endowment session at the temple, we were able to head over to Broadway.
I had been wanting to see Bring It On and it was a show that me, Bre and Haley used to watch frequently in our high school days.
Way cheesy, but way hilarious and one of my favorite shows I’ve seen on Broadway.

I don’t know how the kid that took the picture managed to miss the HUGE poster behind us that said “Bring It On,” but he did.
It was so fun to not have a crazy tourist agenda in the city because we both have been several times, so we meandered (and by meandered, I mean we rode the Subway everywhere so Preggar’s wouldn’t break her back and I loved it!) down to Canal Street where Haley turns into Super Negotiator and got a few purses for $20 each!

Then we headed to the East Village for a treat:

ChikaLicious Dessert Bar did not disappoint!

Blurry picture of Times Square on our way back to the car.
We had fun. Tons of fun. I love the city with my kids, but I love it a little bit more without. :)

Thad wore this shirt in honor of Haley’s birthday on her last day.
Grandma Cindy got it for him while she was here and he had been begging to wear it.
It was October 1st and Haley’s last day…Perfect.

We also visited one of Haley’s fav places in Norwalk.
It has legit treats from Holland, and takes her back to her awesome study abroad days.

IMG_4392
We ended the day at the park for Thad to burn off some energy before heading to the airport.
As you can see, he adores this gal.
How could he not?

I sure do too!
I’m so glad this gal was able to come visit.
Her babe is one lucky boy to have her as his mama. She is just awesome.
I can’t wait to see her in a month as she prepares for this next stage of her life.
Love you lots, Haley S!
