So I finally have internet access. That's why I haven't been able to do the blog earlier and Brian has been too busy with school and work to sit down and do it. As most of you know our baby boy is finally here and he is amazing! Labor and delivery went picture perfect. I'll tell you the story as fast as I can:-)
I woke up at 1:30am to use the bathroom to figure out that my water had broken. It wasn't much so I was in denial at first because I was prepared to go another week before he came and I was super nervous about delivering a child and becoming a mom. So I wasn't feeling contractions or anything and I had spent the entire day cleaning my house but I hadn't washed my hair for a few days...I took my time and took a shower, washed and dried my hair, finished packing, called my co-worker to take over boot camp at 6:30am and then we headed over. We got to the hospital at 3:00 am and I was so nervous, but so excited too. They started me on pitocin cuz i was only dialated to 1 cm when I got there. My dialation was quite slow so I didn't get an epidural unitl 11:00 am cuz I new I was going to be there for a while and I didn't want to be confined to the bed for that long. I was so happy when that medication got into my system and I couldn't feel the contractions anymore. I can't even imagine going through labor and delivery without one! I admire those that have. Anyways, I was only dialated to 4.5 cm when my nurse got off her shift at 3:00 pm and when the next nurse came to check me about 45 minutes later I was at a ten!!!! It was so crazy how fast it happened! She gave me a few minutes, we pushed on 2 contractions, she called the OB, we pushed once before he got there and then We only had to push on 5 or 6 more contractions and then he was born at 4:48 pm. It was probably the most amazing experience of my life and i really can't believe how happy my little baby makes me.
So he's been here for 2.5 weeks and the time is just flying. It's been an adjustment being a mom, but the most rewarding adjustment I have ever made. Brian is an amazing father and it is so fun to see them together. He's sleeping pretty good in 3 hour increments at night, so we can't complain too much. He is just a treasure:-)
Thanks for all your comments, he really is such a doll and I hope you enjoy these pics!
