Yesterday was the final celebration of Eve's birthday, so I thought I better sit down and document it all. We sure love that now four year old of ours and are so glad we got to celebrate all weekend long!
Celebrations started off by heading to Build-A-Bear on Friday to get her a Birthday Bear. It only costs as many dollars as your age if you go during the month of your birthday, so we had to get her one! Dawn and I surprised Eve and Charlotte after picking them up from school on Friday. We headed to the mall and they had so much fun stuffing their bears, picking out outfits and giving them names.
She told them to touch their little bear hearts to their heads so the bear would be smart and then to their hearts so they would love and then they put them inside of the bear and it was adorable!
We took pictures before we picked out the outfits, but Eve named hers Lyla and Charlotte named hers Lilac. Such a fun little way to kick off Eve's birthday and celebrate Charlotte's!
Sunday finally came and she was so excited that it was her ACTUAL birthday! I think I have been telling people she's almost 4 for far too long and she was so excited to say she was actually 4!
We had her presents out and a few decorations and she was so excited to finally open her presents after she had breakfast and Wes finally woke up.
Here she is opening Thad's gift and it was so adorable! He made her a red and pink (her favorite colors, of course) elastic bracelet and she LOVED it! She told everyone the next day it was her favorite present of her birthday.
She had a blast opening the rest of her presents, but the biggest hit of the morning was...
The pretend makeup Grandma Teresa and Grandpa Russ sent that she had been saying she wanted for months! This really went on for a solid hour-
Um, how adorable is this with her closing her eyes, softly opening her mouth and applying the fake eye shadow? I love her!
The boys were such good sports to go along with it!
Sevi sent these precious jewels and Eve was over the moon about them!
She exclaimed, "I'm rich!" when she saw them and it was adorable.
Before we knew it, it was time to head to church. She was such a good girl while I did my first headband dutch braid in her hair. Braiding finally clicked for me me a couple weeks ago and I have had so much fun doing all sorts of braids in her hair. I am so glad she is a patient, willing participant!
We took pictures in several different places because the sun was too bright for her 4 year old eyes, but I didn't mind all the cuteness I captured in her Sunday best.

Seriously ,where would I be without her. She is a sassy, stubborn little thing, but in all the very best ways!
After church we had spaghetti per her request-
And then cleaned up and anxiously awaited for our neighbors to arrive for cake and ice cream-
That cutout of the girl doing a cartwheel is the closest thing Eve got to a "gymnastics birthday" on her actual birthday and she was tickled pink about it! Even though her cake got smashed a little (by me), she still loved it and it lived up to her specific cake request of pink, red and white frosting and made her day!
Our neighbors, the Connerys, Sacketts and Olsens, came over for a little over an hour and we had so much fun singing to Eve and visiting with each other because we don't see each other out and about much. We are so grateful they were willing and excited to come celebrate our Eve with us!
And even though you don't need to wish anything (because you'll make anything happen that you want), I still hope with all my mama heart that all your wishes come true, Miss Eve!

And yes, the birthday celebrations continued the next couple days as she wore her new watch and shirt to school and took star cookies to celebrate with her classmates!
Luckily my neighbor Jillian brought me over 3 eggs that morning so I could hurry and make these to send with Eve that lovely Monday morning. Eve originally requested cupcakes with start cutouts, but it turned into unfrosted star shaped sugar cookies...and she doesn't look too disappointed about it, so I'm calling it a win!
On Tuesday we brought her celebrations to an end by having her official "gymnastics birthday"! We picked up Charlotte and Ellie at 9am and headed to her gymnastics gym for their open gym time where the girls could just run around and have all sorts of fun on the equipment there.
This little girl is a daredevil and boss in the gym and I think she's really going to excel here!

We headed to McDonald's and found out when we got there that there was no play place, so we took pictures while we waited for our food, ate a quick lunch and headed back to our house for presents, playing and cake!

We sure love you, Eve, and are so glad we got to celebrate you for lots of days even it makes you think you will get this every year. You are worth every moment of celebrating and I hope you can pass on the tradition of celebrating the people that bring you the most joy in your life, because that is who and what you are to me and our family.
Four things we love about you-
1. Your independence. You are a good friend, but have no problem taking this world on by yourself. Sometimes I wonder if I should be sad that you aren't clinging to me, but then I realize you are the way you are partly because of me and I know this trait is going to take you places and serve you well.
2. Your athleticism. It is really fun to have a four year old that can do all the bike riding, swimming, trampoline tricks, cartwheels, soccer dribbling, etc! This is a gift and I hope you use it to work hard, push yourself and make the impossible become possible.
3. "Love you even more." You say this phrase all the time and it makes all the people that say "I love you" to you feel so good because you always follow up with, "I love you even more and more and more!"
4. Spunk. You draw so many people (mostly older than you) to you because you are talkative, excited and warm when you see them. It is such a beautiful quality that I hope you never put under a bushel.
