Boise Bonanza and Birthday Bashes

For spring break we had the awesome opportunity to go visit my wonderful big brother, Birtley and his beautiful wife, Tiffany in Boise where they live with their 4 adorable kiddles. Brian and I have gone to Boise 3 of the 4 spring breaks that we have been married and we didn't go last year because I had just had Thad. So we kept the tradition alive and went for our last spring break as college students.
We (Brian) drove all night and we got there around 12:30 a.m. and both my brothers were waiting up for us. My oldest brother, Riley was there because he drives trucks up from SLC that Birtley sales in Boise. We of course chatted forever and didn't get to be until 2:30 a.m. We were all pretty tired the next day so we got to sleep in a bit. I thought Thad was sleeping late, but Carter heard him and got him out of his crib and they just played until we woke up. It made me so excited to have older kids that will be able to help out with the little guys! We just hung out all morning looking at mini vans online because Birtley and Tiff really wanted one (they actually bought one this last week!) and so do we! It will probably be a while for us, but you better believe that I will be sporting a way sweet VW Routan someday w/ my 10 kids! Jk, not 10...maybe 5:) We got ready and headed to the Old Idaho State Penitentiary and it was a blast!
We locked Carter in first thing! He's a naughty boy;-)
These were the tiny cells the inmates got to hang out in

We were all happy we never had to actually live in one.
I spy with my little eye...
Me and Thad kinda had the willies
Thad loved playing out in the courtyard and he actually cried several times when we made him come into the buildings.

These pics are all at a gun exhibit that they have at the penitentiary

Thad wasn't too sure of the shoulder thing at first. He's kinda top heavy and leaned back a lot:)
The Penitentiary

After we toured the penitentiary we went to their ward Relief Society birthday dinner and it was really fun. They had taco salads and we were able to chat with Birtley and Tiff's ward members. We left Thad in the nursery for the first time and he kinda freaked out. We had to go get him as soon as were done eating because he was still crying. He better get out of that habit real fast because as soon as 18 months rolls around...
After the dinner we went to see Did You Hear About the Morgans at the dollar theater and it was actually REALLY good! I would highly recommend it to those looking for a fun, clean movie.
We got home pretty late and started watching America's Funniest Home Videos. If you're looking for a good laugh, wait til midnight and watch that show and the funniness is magnified 100 times!

On Sunday we went to the park and had a lot of fun...It was really warm!
Thad's first time swinging and he LOVED it!
Rett on the monkey bars
Birtley and Tiff..They've almost been married 10 years! They are an awesome couple and I"m so glad we are able to have such a great relationship w/ them even though they're WAY older than us;-)
Macie and Thad loved this piano
Hi
Cole
Macie is 17 months old and she is a MONKEY! She can climb on anything and everything and she could only hold herself there for a few seconds, but we were very impressed!
I can do sweet tricks too!
This guy looked pretty sick, butt (no pun intended)...
He was really nice and took this fun picture of all of us.

So we obviously had a ton of fun and just hung out the rest of Sunday and Monday. Here's a few random pics:
Hot Tubbin'!
Birtley and Brian making utensils to make crepes
Brian teaching Birtley how to make crepes...Russian style:)
Tiffany LOVING her crepes! We made them twice while were there because Tiff loves them so much!

This post is getting long, but we attended 2 birthday bashes this week: one for my niece, Laney who turned 6 and one for Breanne who turned 24 (wow we're getting old, Bre).

Thad and I headed to Riverton to party for Laney on St. Patty's day.
She always has a great birthday outfit to keep w/ the St. Patty's Day spirit.
Cute cousins
I had Kristen Faux knit the cute headband/warmer and some flowers for her b-day...She loved it!
Leah doing her funny beaver smile:) Tyson and Ledoux just kept doing things to make her laugh because they wanted her to do it!
Everyone sporting their green
Avery is just a doll!

I stayed at Haley's house and we had a lot of fun! We were able to go to lunch w/ Grandma Teresa and Aunt Kelli and then Kelli watched Thad while I went as saw Remember Me with my sisters. We really liked it! After that I just hung out w/ Haley and her kiddles for the rest of the night.
Laney giving herself bunny ears
This squat is one of my new favorite Thad moves:)

Bre's birthday was a lot of fun! Derek surprised her by having some of her friends over to hang out at her parent's house out in Newton. They just moved up to Cache Valley about a year ago and their house is absolutely beautiful!
Bre w/ the present we gave her
I gave her a hair product called Powder Play that helps your hair stay puffed and some cute O.P.I nail polish.
Derek got her this really cool road bike so that she can do triathalons. She was surprised!
Thad was obsessed w/ Teresa all night! She is so sweet and he just loved being with her. He was choosing her over me and Brian...it was pretty cute!

He stayed close to her even if he was just playing:)
I'm way glad we were able to celebrate w/ Bre. She is one of my bestest friends and I love her so much! She would do anything for anyone and I am so lucky to have her in my life. Love you Bre!

Fun Family Photos

We got these pictures taken the weekend of Thad's birthday and I have just been a major slacker for not posting them. My sister-in-law, Kelsie took them on her family's property and they just turned out fabulous!
He was a little nervous on the log, but he toughed it out:)

I think Brian and I liked this better than Thad...
Thad isn't too fond of being tossed around, but he was a good sport

Look at that smile:)
He kept doing this hilarious Pop-eye face and we have more pics of him doing this than smiling!
We are a happy family;-)
We love those cheeks too, Heidi!
Dad and Thad.
He's in deep thought...I wonder what runs through their heads!?

Our favorite! We're getting an 11x14 to hang in the family room
He love pointing at everything...what a doll!
Yip Thad, that's your finger;)
One of the happiest couples on the planet!

We had a ton of fun going everywhere on the farm and I'm so grateful to Kelsie for taking these wonderful pictures that we will always have. If you are interested you can check out her blog, Kelsie Monsen Photography and I can hook you up if you're interested:)
