August was a month of recovering from vacation in Utah, anticipating school to start, school finally starting and the beginning of the end of summer.
The day after we got back from Utah we headed straight to the orthopedic office to get Thad a hard cast on his broken arm-
It was quick and painless and he was so happy to not have to baby it anymore. He let me sign it first and took a marker with him so that friends could sign it wherever we were. It was kinda fun!
He was such a good sport and had a smile on his face about the whole thing. There were times it was itchy or annoying or we had to change plans because of it (don't plan to send your kid on their bike to school with a broken arm), and he just rolled with it. I love that handsome cuss!
The Ausmans from our ward in Texas stopped by the first weekend of the month on their drive back to Texas from upstate New York where they visit family every summer. It was so fun to see some familiar faces, I hope this happens more often!

I am so grateful for all our wonderful friends we made in Texas!
We went to get Ohio licenses and plates and left with one license and one plate. We forgot some paper work and need to go back and finish the rest but I wanted to remember these Texan faces forever-
And after heading to the DMV, Brian decided to stay home and head to the zoo with us and it was such a fun day date with dad!!
This elephant, Hank, was definitely the highlight of the day! Brian liked him a lot and the kids ended up getting Brian dress socks with elephants on them for his birthday because of how much he loved him!
Me and the kids are going to be famous because we went and were part of the making of a commercial for a friend's boss that is going to be running for some state office in November. Yeah, that's how famous...I can't even remember his name or the office he is running for...
That guy in the plaid is the star of the show. Now that I see his face I think his name is Dave. He was super nice and signed Thad's cast, so over all we liked him. My friend Katie is the blond in the blue shirt behind him. It was a hot, long morning, but we made it through and can't wait for our 15 minutes of fame!
Eve just stayed as far away from me as she could and convinced all the other adults to talk to her, give her treats and tie flower bracelets on her-
Yep, she has no stranger danger and these nice men can't say no to her asking, so there she is across the field getting others to do things for her. She is crazy and I love her for it.

Wes was ticked I wouldn't let him go play on the playground. Poor kid.
Thad and I went on a little morning date and ended it with a walk at Glacier Ridge Park on a very muggy, misty morning. I always love time with this kiddo-
We love how green it is here and loved seeing wild life wherever we go (deer in the background).
He sprinted to the end of the trail, even with a broken arm...Nothing can stop that kid!
Back to school night and fun new school clothes-

We headed to the Food Truck Festival downtown the weekend after school started with the Gees and had a blast! Food and friends? What more could a girl ask for?
The next day we found out Brian is allergic to bees! Aaaah!
He was out getting some yard work done, got stung and started to feel really weird. After calling the nurse hotline through our insurance we headed to the ER (she wanted us to call 911, but we opted for the cheaper route). They got him right through to the back, gave him some steroids and fluids and monitored him for a couple of hours. It was not an anaphylactic reaction, but could potentially turn into that in the future so we're going to have watch him close.
He was kind of sad and irritated at how much he wasn't able to get done that afternoon because of that stupid bee! I'm just glad he's ok.
Thad got his cast off on August 22, one week after school started, and for a second he pretended he was sad to see it go-
But we took some pictures of it, gave it a hug and couldn't wait to get rid of it!
He was brave and said it tickled just like his friend at school said it would!
It was a little gross to see all the dead skin after they took it off, but he was pumped to have his shooting arm back!
Love that boy and his fast healing bone!
Eve still loves gymnastics and wearing her purple outfit as often as I will let her.
She talks a lot in class and wants to show off, but her teacher, Ms. Ashley, is very sweet and looks at her as a leader and not a nuisance which makes my mama heart so happy!
She also had her back to school day and couldn't wait until she could stay there on her own!
And here are some random moments throughout the month to end this post-
I found myself just staring at these faces a few times not wanting to forget these moments of quiet mornings, no where to be and them thinking I'm cool. This summer was a great bonding time for all of us because after the move we had to cling to each other and it just made me happy. They really are my Magic Treasures!
The Macarena has gotten real big at our house and Brian and I watched them do this several times through after FHE one Monday and loved every second of it!
I loved seeing this outside of Wes' classroom at curriculum night and my favorite part is that he draws himself with red hair! I love it!
These boys were so excited to finally ride their bikes to school after Thad got his cast off!
And I always like to go through Brian's phone to see what he documents-

This little girl comes to nursery every week with this look on her face for almost the entire 2 hours! She is not cranky or mean or naughty, just can scowl with the best of them.
And then there's Wes-
He and Brian had a fun date night in downtown Dublin and Brian always gets the best shots of our adorable children!
